LOG: Fire Hazard

Who: Abby (Original), Open
What: Job applications suck
Where: Southern Gulch Mall Food Court
When: Saturday 6/13, Afternoon
Warnings: This table may be on fire soon, teenage girl frustrated to nearly tears

This, apparently, is what life is about. Not thieving. The world apparently runs on paperwork, and Abby doesn't get that? Like, on the streets your word is pretty much binding, you know? You don't need pages upon pages of paperwork with your home address and education information (bless Roxy for thinking to forge a GED in her fake identity, she is the BEST friend a street rat can have), and why are there essay questions? Seriously, why do they need to know what she can 'bring to the Abecrombie Republic GAP family'? Clearly the purpose is to stock shelves and fold clothes and get people to buy stuff and NOT steal it. Isn't that enough?

And then here, the true betrayal that isn't the stack of twenty job applications and the way her eyes are watering because how does she answer these questions? Her pen, the only pen she has, the black pen that Grif let her take from the garage, is dead. She can't even FILL OUT the evil paperwork.

There is a lighter in the bag Roxy loaned her (because bookbags are hard to carry when you have only one arm functional at the moment), one she couldn't help but steal from a nearby kiosk. Things left in the open and... well, it's just too much in her nature not to pocket. She's a thief, not a 'sales clerk'. Anyway, she has a lighter, and man it would be SO easy to set these papers on fire and walk away. Because she's sitting on a table at the extreme edge of the food court and god they are pissing her off.

She's supposed to be smiles and cheer, not paperwork! Why can't her pen work?
