By four thirty in the afternoon, Maine has everything he'll need for dinner tonight. He bought three inch-thick salmon steaks and a half pound of asparagus. The safehouse is already stocked with brown rice, pepper, rock salt, olive oil, and dried dill; he'll need to mince the garlic and juice the lemons, but otherwise, dinner should be easy. Dessert is taken care of, courtesy of a freezer pie that will go in the oven after the salmon and a quart of vanilla ice cream.
Oh. And he has Delta, his cooking assistant.
"Come on in," he says when the airlock of the safehouse has finished cycling. Louisiana will be here in less than an hour. It's plenty of time, he thinks.
