Home is where the heart is
Who: Roxy Lalonde, OPEN
What: A return
Where: Streets of Gulch
When: August 13th
Warnings: Some sad kidness.
It had been so different. Rainbow Fall has always been a distant memory, land submerged in water and covered by metal and concrete. The best of the real place she had only seen were for particularly long dives under the water, but all it was, was ruins, and dead trees. To see it in a world where Earth hadn't fallen. Where humanity had survived.
To see it covered in plants and buildings and LIFE-
It had made her chest ache in a way she couldn't describe. She may have cried a lot in her hotel room. But she had continued on, going to Texas, finding the street Director Dave Strider live on. Seen the buildings, seen the people, and wonder what it would have been like. What if this had been the world they'd been born on.
But time passed and she made promises and headed back to Adaptive. As her ship left orbit, it felt like she was letting go of something important. Whether or not she still needed it, she didn't know, just that it was important.
It gave her a lot to think about on her flight back. Once her ship landed on Zanzibar, she sent off a text to her....to her friends that she was back and headed back to Gulch now. She didn't know if that was important, but Omega always made a bit deal about contact, so she did it to be safe.
Now she was back in the city, choosing to walk the streets with a roller suitcase, Jec sleeping in an enviro-pet carrier to keep him safe from the gasses. Soon she'd be back at Grif's and trying to decide what her next step was. (And maybe get something to drink because that was a VERY long flight.)
