Log: All The Small Things
Who: Wash (OU) and you!
What: Wash has completed his first job as a mercenary and is out to celebrate it
Where: Out and about in town, picking up some better equipment, and then to the Eagle and Asp for a drink
When: Afternoon to night 29/11
Warnings: None so far
It hadn't been the most glamorous of jobs, but any notion of glamour had been beaten out of him practically the day he'd enlisted. The important thing was that his first job as a registered mercenary had gone well and that was the first step to being able to take care of himself without having to rely on other people. Sure, it would take a few more jobs before he felt comfortable, but it was a start.
That was cause enough for celebration, right?
His first step is to head out to a supplier to stock up on equipment. Nothing fancy for now, but enough to get him started. A good gun or two, and a solid combat knife.
There's other things that he needs, an almost overwhelming amount, he realises now that he has the money to start thinking about it. Clothes that aren't fatigues or armour, and there's so many different kinds that it takes him far longer than it should to pick out what he needs.
And once that's done, he heads to the Eagle and Asp for a drink. It feels appropriate somehow.

That being said, she's more than happy to take another kind of knife because what the point here is having a weapon other than her little taser in her bag.

He scours the sets on offer behind the glass, and points out a set. "Can we look at those ones?" he asks, and picks one up when the shopkeeper brings them out, testing the weight and balance. "Try this one," he says, handing one over to Abby.

"This might be good?" she asks curiously. "It looks weird."

"Throwing knives generally don't have hilts. Just one piece of metal, so yeah, they look unfinished. Not too heavy?"

Come on, mister Jammy, she wants to learn. Is that too much to ask? She thinks not. She thinks a lot of things thought. She sets the blade over the back of a finger, smiling in true pleasure at how it balances. "Yeah, I like it. I know lots of places I could hide these."

He smiles a little when she balances it, and nods. "Then get those. Practice with them. And they're going to break and get blunt. That just means you're practising."

The answer is clearly to acquire things and stuff but she wants to be sure.

"I'm buying weapons," he says bluntly, and it's the most obvious answer "Got registered. Got paid for a job. I'm stocking up."

Point A to point B, no matter what's in between.

She turns her attention to the owner. "Show us butterfly knives."

"Look at it, please."

He takes the knife, tests the weight of it, the way it flips open. "Good choice," he says finally, handing it back to her.

While the man nervously goes to do this, Abby beams at Wash. "You're a hero."
