Log: All The Small Things
Who: Wash (OU) and you!
What: Wash has completed his first job as a mercenary and is out to celebrate it
Where: Out and about in town, picking up some better equipment, and then to the Eagle and Asp for a drink
When: Afternoon to night 29/11
Warnings: None so far
It hadn't been the most glamorous of jobs, but any notion of glamour had been beaten out of him practically the day he'd enlisted. The important thing was that his first job as a registered mercenary had gone well and that was the first step to being able to take care of himself without having to rely on other people. Sure, it would take a few more jobs before he felt comfortable, but it was a start.
That was cause enough for celebration, right?
His first step is to head out to a supplier to stock up on equipment. Nothing fancy for now, but enough to get him started. A good gun or two, and a solid combat knife.
There's other things that he needs, an almost overwhelming amount, he realises now that he has the money to start thinking about it. Clothes that aren't fatigues or armour, and there's so many different kinds that it takes him far longer than it should to pick out what he needs.
And once that's done, he heads to the Eagle and Asp for a drink. It feels appropriate somehow.

He nods and goes to try on the sweater next, and once more comes out for Delta's approval.
no subject
Delta smiles warmly at that look. "Very good. I think that's going to do good for you. I can already tell the tailored shirt would be perfectly good."
He doesn't think he can handle that on him. "I think it's going well with this."
no subject
"I might as well try the tailored one as well." He was here now and that one looked a bit more formal.
He comes out of the changing rooms a moment later, looking to Delta for approval. The cuffs feel tight and restrictive but he thinks they're supposed to be that way.
no subject
"It's very good. You should get them all, of course. And I don't even work here, so it's not like I've got a commission riding on it or anything."
no subject
"I will. They'll set me up for a decent amount of time." And he can just buy duplicates of those. "You should let me buy you a drink. To say thanks."
no subject
Wait... he promised shoe help. "Would you like help with shoes?"

If the guy wants to buy him a smoothie he'll take it. He hasn't had lunch today. He's... been hiding.

He doesn't have this man's name.
Oh god what is wrong with him? How could he make that mistake again? God his life is a mess."
no subject
He pays quickly and gets his purchases bagged up. That is a lot of bags. He doesn't think he's ever owned so many clothes at one time.
He spots Delta nearby and heads over to him. "Done."
no subject
no subject
"Wash. I'm called Wash. Nice to meet you."
no subject
"You're..."
He's so confused. Washington should recognize him. They had talked relatively recently. What... was going on here.
"I knew you were familiar but... you don't recognize me?"
no subject
He gives Delta a confused look, shakes his head. "No. Should I? I mean, I've only been here a month or so but I've usually got a good memory for faces."
no subject
This is all just... weird. "You're... sure?"
Because now that it's been said, he does recognize Washington's face, even if it's hard to believe. He wants to reach out and touch it and... Oh, well, he's figured it out.
"Is this just another ploy from Florida to fuck with me? Because I'm tired of that."
no subject
He rolls his eyes. "If someone was that determined to fuck with you, their plan is full of holes and generally not very good." A chance meeting while shopping that relied upon Delta offering to help. That was ridiculous.
no subject
He shakes his head. Maybe this guy is a mercenary who is trying to elbow in on Wash's life and he had the misfortune of running into the guy. That was... bad.
"I should go."
no subject
"I thought we were going for a drink. You really have helped me a lot, and I'd like to get you that if nothing else."
no subject
Delta crosses his arms over his chest and gives Wash a less than amused look.
"Considering that, would you trust you in my position?"
no subject
He looks away, sighs. "But whatever. Look, the smoothie shop is just up the street, it's broad daylight. My arms are full of shopping bags. It's crowded. You don't even have to stick around once I've bought your drink."
no subject
"Alright. I don't promise to stick around," Delta says. "But I won't help you carry the bags. I'm sorry, I just won't."
no subject
He picks up his bags so they're taking up both of his hands. "If it makes you feel safer, that's fine."
no subject
He's allowed himself this one moment, this smoothie. After all, the guy was nice. But Delta has to question why he found this man attractive when he hadn't considered...
Right, he hadn't met Wash until after Maine. Okay. He gets that. Or maybe it was just how lost he was. Delta can't help but notice that he's looked toward people who need help lately.
