The base is too far away for them to have heard the explosion, but York has the news on while he clears up after breakfast and he's more watching it than the plates he's stacking in the dishwasher. Looks pretty bad, but he's checked the location and the travel lines they use to get between the base and the Ai house aren't close enough to be affected, so people should be able to to and fro if they need to.
Part of him wishes they were close enough and save Delta the likely upcoming stress from the party, but that's not fair on just about anyone else, so he tries to ignore it.
Half an hour later, the storm alarms go off.
