Log: Haven Located

Louisiana laid back in the lounge chair, listening to the man made waterfall. Her helmet nearby out of habit rather than necessity. It was nice to be able to comfortably enjoy the sun rays coming in and be surrounded by flora. She however kept half of her attention to the door inside. Hopefully Florida would chose that conviential route rather than appearing out of the trees. He had a knack for randomly appearing despite having given a warning.

"The supposed rookie of mine aka York's boyfriend," she answers.

[the_informant]

"Sigma?" Florida asks, scandalized. "The boy met with you again? He seemed so... faint of heart."

[spectre_de_la_mort]

She nods. "That's him. Ended up inviting him for lunch and he was nice enough to take the offer. I took him to the Arcadia over in the first atrium."

"He's bold though to apparently be friends with me," Louisiana admits. "The dip in the waterfall was for losing a bet. Can't swim so I had to stick him with an inflatable so he wouldn't drown."

Florida bursts out laughing. "Oh god, Lou. Most people on this planet can't swim!"

She shrugged, smirking. "That's the point of having him wear that floatie. Besides if something went wrong, I could've easily gotten him out. I've swam in significantly worse conditions than that pool."

[the_informant]

"That's right, Cove is pretty big on the oceans," Florida agrees. "It isn't as big where I'm from, but I did learn it."

[spectre_de_la_mort]

"Correct. If I weren't here, I would probably try to be Marine Recon if I could. They could use people who have more saltwater than blood in their veins," she replies. "Or considered part shark. Adaptive doesn't have much use of that set of skills."

"I'm happy to not need to swim a lot," FLorida smiles. "I don't even have swim trunks.

She laughs softly. "If you're strong enough, you can swim in anything."

The tacpad chirps with incoming activity and the arrival of the drinks. Her eyes flicker down at it before stashing it in her helmet. Standing, she heads back in to answer the door.

Florida has to stick his hands in his lap to keep from going for the pad. It's just instinct. But he controls himself, looking out at the hotel.

Maybe he should bring Tex... Wow, no.

She comes back with drinks in hand. "Last time I checked, staring at trees isn't a good skill to have either. You're distracted."

[the_informant]

"Trying not to think about something," Florida corrects. It's a tiny difference, but important.

[spectre_de_la_mort]

"...do I even want to know what it is?" She hands him his drink before sitting back down.

[the_informant]

"It's very juicy gossip, but if I told you, the person involved would kill us both," Florida laughs.

He's certain.

[spectre_de_la_mort]

She quirks an eyebrow but focuses on her soda. "Well I rather enjoy life so I'll go with no. I've already dealt with enough threats of death in the past two weeks."

[the_informant]

"Exactly," Florida chuckles. "I have a new... friend. Who doesn't want anyone to know. Which I can respect."

[spectre_de_la_mort]

"Arrêtez," she counters. "The little I know the better."

[the_informant]

"I suppose I'll say the same about you and Maine," Florida smiles as he reaches for his drink and sips at it."

[spectre_de_la_mort]

"Yea...wait what?" Louisiana freezes up. What in the world did Florida mean by her and Maine?

[the_informant]

"Oh come on, you two are clearly smitten with each other. One doesn't have to look hard do find the affection."

[spectre_de_la_mort]

"I--what? No. You could not be more wrong, Florida," she states awkwardly.

[the_informant]

"Really?" Florida asks. "That level of concern was... intense."

[spectre_de_la_mort]

She covers her face with her hands, embarrassed. "For the love of god, it's not like that. Maine is dating someone and is a friend. I don't do romance anyway, Florida."

[the_informant]

"He's what?" Florida asks in shock. "Wait... The big guy is dating someone and it isn't you?"

His mind is blown.

"...I honestly can't believe this is happening right now." Louisiana didn't know how to deal with this. So she gets up from her seat. "I'm just...I'll be back."

She heads inside and away from further embarrassment.
