Log: Tending the Twins

Who: Sigma Ai, Agent York (Native), any Ai siblings who are at home
What: Babysitting the little siblings during Delta's appointment

Before he picks up the twins from school, Sigma finds everything he should need. Paper, pencils, crayons, and even a few stickers, so they can decorate the room with "Get Well Delta" cards. Dishes, cups, and favorite juices. A rogue ball of string in case York wants to help the twins play the "secret agent" game that he proposed on their second date.

It's a lot for one morning of babysitting, but Sigma really wants this to go well. Delta needs it, and more importantly, he hasn't seen York since before finals. It's time to sit back, have fun, and pretend that nothing is wrong.

Thankfully, the twins are pretty docile by the time they get home. Both of them have been cranky in Delta's absence. Now, they just seem resigned. Sigma hopes York will help him cheer them up.

"Lunch," Sigma says. "And art. York, this is my brother Epsilon. Ep, this is York." He slips a hand around York's. He had forgotten that his brother hadn't met his boyfriend yet. This could get. . . Interesting.

York looks up at the new voice and finds a figure who is both familar and not. He has the strange eyes of all the Ais and similar facial features, but York's never seen him before.

He smiles at Sigma's hand in his and squeezes his hand once in reassurance.

'Hey, Epsilon, nice to finally meet you.'

Epsilon just gives York an appraising look. "Well, nice to meet you, York. I've heard a little about you, but this explains some things. Nice catch just on looks, Sigma. And I'm sure there's more to him than that if he's here now."

Yea, he's smirking right now. He's joking though, and trying to embarrass Sigma a little at the same time. Without saying anything likely to cause issues with younger ears.

"Give me some credit, Epsilon," Sigma says. "You know I love the smart ones."

'Heard a few things about you too,' he returns. 'Guess I can cross one more Ai off my "to meet list".' That just leaves Gamma. And possibly Alpha. 'And I can assure you, there's plenty more to me than good looks.'

He gets a very warm, fuzzy feeling from Sigma's words.

Epsilon laughs. "Good point. And I'm almost afraid to know what you've heard of me. Considering my wandering habits..." There's a snicker at that. "And I can think of things I'm wondering about regarding you."

He gives Sigma a look. "But I'd rather not embarrass Sigma more than our older brother already has."

Sigma doesn't know whether to chase the twins out or beg them to stay at the table.

"Mostly that you're a slacker," he teases. "And you snore terribly." It may or may not be true. He sleeps so deeply, and at such different times from Epsilon, that he doesn't actually know.

At the mention of Omega, Eta's head perks up. "Omom?" she asks.

"Yes, Omega," Sigma says. "I can't tell if he's teasing or well-intentioned."

York rolls his eyes at the reminder of Omega's antics. He opens his mouth to add something to the conversation, when Eta pipes up and takes his attention entirely.

'...Omom?' Surely it's too good to be true.

Epsilon glares at Sigma. "I'm not that much of a slacker. I work on my own projects. And I don't snore." He probably does.

There's a laugh. "I think I see why Omom teases you like that. It's well intentioned. He just wants to protect his younger siblings."

"Epsilon does courier work," Sigma explains to York. "He works hard at it, hard enough to never be home."

"Yeah, Roxy gave Omega that nickname, and you did not hear it from me." He hasn't even said it.

"And what do you mean, you see why? I'm doing just fine on my own."

'Courier work's sure a good excuse if you like wandering,' he says.

Oh, this is too good. Sure Omega will likely try to kill him if he ever repeats it, but he can think it while looking at the man.

'My lips are sealed.'

"It's not just an excuse. I have a purpose to my wanderings."

There's a smirk on Epsilon's face. "I'll save Omom for a special occasion for teasing."

Epsilon just gives Sigma a look. "If you don't know why York is worth worrying about, I think we need to talk again without the kids present, Sigma."

Sigma pouts at York because he prefers those lips very much unsealed. Yet Epsilon's words make him blush.

"I know why. There's no need for--" Why does he insist on bringing this up? Especially in front of York?

'What's that then?'

He grins at the banter between the two brothers. For how good Sigma is at flirting, he gets very easily embarrasses when his brother bring up his dating life, it seems.

"What's what? The purpose in my wandering?"

Epsilon snickers at Sigma's reaction to the teasing. "You're too fun to tease."

Sigma hands a red crayon to Iota before he can upend the entire box searching for it. "So you insist," he says. "Yet you have two other siblings at this table who are perfectly teasable."

'Yeah.' Not all those who wander are lost and all that.

True, but from York's perspective, they don't blush like Sigma does. Ah, siblings,

Epsilon shakes his head. "I can't talk about it in front of the younger ones. Omega and Delta would have my head."

Epsilon chuckles. "How often do I get to tease a sibling about their boyfriends? Come on."

Sigma groans. "You see what I usually share a room with, York?"

'You're welcome to move to mine if he's too much of a pain,' he says smoothly.

Epsilon just laughs at that. "Already trying to seduce my brother into moving in with you? Wow. You move fast."

He's not sure York is entirely teasing, but of course he can't ask in front of Epsilon. Or the twins, for that matter. He has half a mind to take Eta and Iota out of the room and let Epsilon get the banter out of his system. York seems to enjoy it. Besides, he can handle himself.

Instead, he sneaks his ankle around York's under the table and focuses very hard on not breaking the crayon in his hands.

'Fast or slow depending on preference.' His careful to keep his banter vague so the twins won't know what he's on about. He nudges his leg against Sigma's at the contact.

Epsilon just starts laughing at that. York is doing quite well at trying to keep from saying anything too much for the twins to hear. "I'm sure. You found a good one, Sigma... I approve."

"Yeah," Sigma says, looking at York. "I'm pretty fond of him. So hands off. He's mine."
