Log: Tending the Twins

What: Babysitting the little siblings during Delta's appointment

Before he picks up the twins from school, Sigma finds everything he should need. Paper, pencils, crayons, and even a few stickers, so they can decorate the room with "Get Well Delta" cards. Dishes, cups, and favorite juices. A rogue ball of string in case York wants to help the twins play the "secret agent" game that he proposed on their second date.

It's a lot for one morning of babysitting, but Sigma really wants this to go well. Delta needs it, and more importantly, he hasn't seen York since before finals. It's time to sit back, have fun, and pretend that nothing is wrong.

Thankfully, the twins are pretty docile by the time they get home. Both of them have been cranky in Delta's absence. Now, they just seem resigned. Sigma hopes York will help him cheer them up.

'Yep, pretty much.'

"I like the ones I've met," he says. "You've found yourself a pretty good family."

His smile grows and softens. 'Yeah. Yeah, I have.'

"I'm glad," he says, smoothing Eta's curls. He's pretty sure she's asleep. "Family is important."

'Very important,' he agrees. And he can smile now, thinking of his parents, instead of worrying whether or not they're okay.

Maybe he should sleep as well. His sister has him pinned, and he would be okay dozing off under that watchful smile.

Iota's breathing has evened out and York wraps his arm gently around him. 'You can sleep if you want,' he tells Sigma quietly.

"I'm not boring you?" he asks.

'Looking that adorable? No chance.'

[ambitious_muse]

Sigma closes his eyes and smiles into his sister's hair. "Love you," I whispers.

'Love you too, Flame,' he says, his free hand resting on Sigma's leg.

He relaxes into the touch and gives himself over to sleep.
