LOG: Dead End
Who: Abigail (Original), any and all
What: Fleeing from a variety of small crimes.
Where: Market District, Street Markets Day Two
When: 5/20, Morning and Afternoon
Warnings: None?
There are times where no matter how hard she tries, things just don't go her way. She'd thought the open air markets had been a good place a few days ago. She'd lifted money from some people, had food with others, and so despite her normal reservations, she opted to repeat the trip.
First rule of thieving: don't hit the same place twice in a short period of time.
Abby should have remembered that. Today she hasn't. Today is one epic failure after another, and if not for the fact that she needs to eat tonight, she'd probably give up, throw in the towel, and slink back to her safe spot.
Instead she's rushing through the crowd, trying not to get caught by the man searching for her, much less relinquish her pathetic take for the day.

"You're kidding, right? He's huge and scary," Abby protests.
He's getting closer, and it's scary. If he gets her, he might break something, her arm or her legs or... No, this isn't good.

"It's okay. Go get in the jeep. I'll take care of him."
It's him all right. He isn't shouting at the girl, which sends all sorts of warning signals to Oquirrh. She grits her teeth, shifts her weight, and hopes she remembers her training.

So she hides and prays.
And the man approaches Oquirrh, finally moving past the worst of the crowd and glaring at Oquirrh.
"Where is the girl?"

"Ain't your business," the man answers. "Little bitch owes."

"Thieves like her, you gotta grab for the cops. Little rats find a hole and disappear forever," the man snarls. "You give her to me and I'll hold her for the authorities."
no subject
She sizes him up one last time, fighting to keep her breathing regular. She's got this. She's fought worse. Right?
no subject
"And you could have helped rather than being a super bitch," the man counters, pushing past Oquirrh. He's going to check these fucking cars.

WOW! That small lady has the guy doubled over and almost on his knees.
"Wh-what?" the man gasps as he falls to his knees.

Running.
She sprints to the jeep, clambers into the driver's seat, and starts the ignition. "Seatbelt," she calls to the girl in the back.

Never mind that she promised Louisiana she wouldn't. She's angry enough to do it. Besides, she's almost out of the arterial street and onto the main road. Moron will have no idea where they went.
no subject
"Thanks for helping. Just... get me to a major street and drop me?"
no subject
She can't just drop the kid off, not right after an incident like that. She remembers being vulnerable and shaken and very much alone. And who doesn't like ice cream?
no subject
"Can we really? I like the kind where it's buttery and there are nuts in it and it's salty too?"
no subject
That's it. They're getting ice cream. She queues her navigation program to find an ice cream shop. Supposedly there's a vendor about two miles away. Not bad. She sets the location on her HUD and heads in that direction.

Because the next chance could be so very far away.
