LOG: Crappy take out and some beer

What: Chillaxing and relaxing. Oh and Florida has some feelings and things to talk about.

More scarves. He's saving her a bit by making them for her and she's not sure if she needs to thank him or not for shoving Omega into approaching her to hang-out. If only her brother didn't need that shove in the first place.

She's picked up what passes for Chinese take-out on Adaptive and brings it with her to his safe house. She's packed herself an overnight bag and a few things to occupy her time since she has a feeling he'll be knitting at least part of the night. It sounds like he's being doing a whole helluva lot of that lately and she's not sure what 'frustration' has brought that on.

Her bike is parked in the garage next to his Isis and she enters into the house with only a short knock of warning.

"No, but it's a place to start while we figure out the rest. Dating usually implies monogamy too, but I know some of what you do for work." She glances in the direction of the altered bedrooms. She knows though it is something she's willfully not thought much about.

"I can't not do that," Florida reminds her softly. "Information gathering techniques, no matter how questionable, must be used."

He's never thought he'd feel guilty for that. "I... I can drop any non-informational sources, though. Well... I have one partner that it acts more as therapy for them and there is nothing sexual between us, but I would hate to just drop them. They need the support and they may be useful to me someday."

Omega. He can't just tell Tex that he has every intention of tying Omega up whenever the other man needs it, if he ever gets the courage to ask.

She blinks back her surprise. She didn't expect him to just volunteer to drop his other partners. Whoever they may be.

"If you keep it to business and I don't hear anything about it, then I'll deal," she says with a small sigh. Out of sight, out of mind. "As for this other person... You promise it's nothing sexual?"

"I think if I tried anything sexual with my therapy case, I might end up with a gun in my face," Florida laughs. He is pretty sure Omega would if he could. But Florida thinks this therapy of his might actually help Omega with some of his clear underlying anger issues.

"If I promise that you're the only one I come to outside of work, then what does that change?"

Because it feels like things are changing around him, and maybe in a good way.

That'll help her keep the jealously in check. She's never done that for a paycheck or to get information out of someone else, but she's done her share of questionable work. His 'therapy case' is a curiosity, but one thing at a time.

"Then I'll trust you to stick to that," she answers. "And unless you're scared off already, I'm willing to give this dating thing a try."

Florida hesitates for a time before moving in to cup her face in his hands. She's so beautiful, and her eyes like this are just so beautiful.

"You're willing to try with a man like me?"

He doesn't let her answer. Instead he leans in to kiss her. Just right on the lips. Florida doesn't kiss for the sake of the kiss, and here he is, doing just that.

Her lips linger against his as she smirks and lets one of her hands get tangled up in his hair. This isn't what she expected to happen when she came over, but she's not about to complain.

"Wouldn't have said anything if I wasn't," she says finally and begins to pull away. He's tempting, but she's hungry and they have the rest of the night.

"You're making me think I should have picked up something nicer for dinner so we could celebrate better."

"I have found, in my life, that celebration is made by the company, not the food," Florida laughs, reaching for his takeout. And, as an after thought once he starts eating, he moves his legs to one is resting in her lap. There. Affectionate?

If his foot is going to be in her lap, then it's going to have her container of food resting on it while she eats. How are the others going to react once it gets out of the bag? It'll be hard to keep it under wraps with them living in the same area together.

"I have no complaints about that," she replies. "So, what's your stance on actual dates?"

"A-actual dates?" Florida asks, and right there, he's back to nervous teen. "I... I don't know. I don't even know what to think about keeping this secret."

If Lou directly asks, can he keep this from her?

Secret? She raises a brow at that. They had been keeping it underground before, but she doesn't think that's really a necessity now.

"Do we need to keep it secret? I don't think we need to shout it from the mountain tops, but it doesn't matter if anyone else knows."

"You... wouldn't mind being identified as involved with me?" Florida asks in shock. He actually stares at her, eyes wide and mouth a bit agape.

There are a thousand arguments in his head as to why she shouldn't. She's young, and strong, and doesn't need the reputation of being involved with him. An assassin. A torturer. A man who has actually come on to York and offered to tie him to a bed.

Why the hell is he looking at her like that? Is it really that farfetched of an idea?

"No point in putting a label on this if I didn't want to be," she answers with a sigh. "Why? You don't want the Informant associated with the Soldier?"

"It's... it's not that," Florida insists quickly. "It's figuring you wouldn't want it known you're dallying with me. Spending time with me. Just... me."

He shakes his head. "I skin people, Tex. That isn't what people think invokes romance."

"I'm well aware of what you do. I might not skin people, but I do a whole lot of damage simple because I'm paid and enjoy it." She shakes her head. Her work doesn't involve torturing or gathering information not on the scale he does, but she's an efficient killer. It's not romantic either by many people's definition of the word.

"If I'm going to date someone, at least a mercenary knows the ins-and-outs of the trade."

"You get that the team will talk, right?" Florida asks quietly. "That doesn't bother you?"

He's a bit more worried what will happen if it gets on the streets. If it gets to Control. Lou has him protected, but Tex?

She snorts. "Should it? If they want to gossip about what we're doing then they're a bunch of idiots that need to find a better use for their time."

God she's just... She's amazing. Florida laughs and shakes his head.

"Do you know that you're not only one of the most beautiful women I've ever met, but the most carefree? Well, not carefree, that isn't quite the right way to explain it..."

She moves the rice around with her fork as she shrugs. "I wouldn't have gotten where I am if I let what other people talked about stop me. Why do you care so much about what they might say?"

"Control," Florida answers. "If they want to find a new way to go after me, you become a target. And by extension... your family."

He stops eating and shakes his head. "That's a problem, right?"

"Just the family part. I can take care of myself. I've been good about changing helmets and vehicles before going to visit them. The Soldier doesn't have any family to speak of, so they don't have a reason to go looking for them."

Unless Maine said something to Louisiana about it. Surely he wouldn't go spreading her link to his boyfriend around. Right?

"Alright then," Florida sighs. "If... Can I tell her?"

Not about Tex's family of course. But... Lou is what family he has in her own unique way.

"Yeah, you can tell her. I trust she's not going to want to get Control involved any further than they have to be." Hopefully. Tex hasn't seen too much of this Louisiana to make a real judgment on her.

"She won't. She's... at odds with them at the moment for what they did to me."

Florida reaches up to touch his shoulder. The scar there is so fresh...

She nods. That helps to know.

"Good. Might want to ask her to keep it from her friends in case they have other intentions of what to do with that kind of information."
