Take A Chance

Who: Agent York (Native) and Sigma Ai

Where: York's safe house

York's got his green coat and helmet on as he drives down the road to pick Sigma up. Not that he thinks there's a secret agent at the uni looking for weaknesses amongst the For Hires and therefore could use Sigma against him if they're seen together. ...Well there might be. In any case, he's not going to take the risk so green it is. Maybe they'll think he's Delta if they don't get too close.

He pulls up outside the campus in the main parking lot just as the first students are trickling out. Turning off the engine and turning down the music, he gets out to wait for his boyfriend, humming happily and grinning as he scans the crowds, waving once he spots Sigma.

"Maybe I just have to get you warm enough," he says. "As part of the experiment." He holds his hand loose around York's, not wanting to let go nor interfere with his driving.

'I like the sound of that,' he agrees. Right now, he's enjoying the simple warmth of Sigma's hand around his.

"It'll be good practice for going out to see the stars," he says. "Doesn't the desert get awfully cold after dark?"

'Yep. So wrap up warm and we'll bring blankets.' He turns off the mainstreet and starts winding through the smaller streets.

"I can do that," he says. He glances out the window to see where they're going but decides he would rather watch York.

It only takes a few more minutes to reach the safe house. York parks at the other end of the street as always just in case someone recognises the vehicle.

"So do all of you have extra houses lying around as part of the job?" He asks. This is a pretty nice place.

[depthlesslock]

'Yeah. It's a good idea to have safe houses in case the base gets compromised or you need to be out of base for whatever reason,' he explains as he gets out. This isn't the one he brought Delta to.

"That makes sense to me," he says. He just wonders what Omega might do about this.

[depthlesslock]

'Yeah, it's handy.' He locks the car, then takes Sigma's hand as they head up the street to his house.

He leans into York and lets him lead. "I'm excited to see what your second home is like," he says. "Especially if we're less likely to be ambushed."

[depthlesslock]

'If we get ambushed here, it will likely be violent,' he admits. 'So let's hope that doesn't happen.' The lock to the house has to be hacked. There's no way of unlocking it the normal way.

"I meant by Maine and Louisiana," he admits. "Or even Washington, if they aren't busy with their significant others. Guess I shouldn't joke about your security though."

York grins as he picks the lock apart. 'They don't know where my safe houses are. Well Wash does, but the others don't. And I doubt Wash is gonna just turn up here out of the blue.'

"He probably has his own place for him and his girl," Sigma says.

This is the first time he's seen York work a lock. He watches, fascinated, as those deft fingers ease the lock open.

He snickers. 'We all have at least two, I think. So I can wel imagine Wash taking her back to one at some point. Did you know I pick pocketed her the same day she met him?'

[ambitious_muse]

"You didn't," he says. "Did you know who she was? What's she like?"

[depthlesslock]

'I didn't. But I got Wash's number out with her wallet, so I had to give that back. She seems like a nice girl.' The lock finally gives and the door opens.

[ambitious_muse]

"Look at you, playing Cupid after the fact." He nudges his boyfriend. "He seems pretty sweet on her."

[depthlesslock]

'Hey have you seen Wash trying to chat up girls? I couldn't mess up the one who swapped numbers with him.' He nudges him back and leads him inside. The lock will reset itself behind them.

[ambitious_muse]

"I haven't," he says. "I may have missed my chance if she's as into him as he's into her." He lets York take his hand and guide him through the airlock.

[depthlesslock]

'He seemed pretty damn enthusiastic when he spoke about her,' he says, chuckling at the memory while the air cycles. 'I might have some recordings of him at Eagle and Asp though. They're golden.'

"I'll have to hear this, then," he says. He doesn't know Wash very well, but he's seen enough to be incredibly amused at the prospect.

[depthlesslock]

'Oh, you do. I'll try and find them sometime, but for now...' The airlock lets them through and York takes the green helmet off, setting on the nearby shelf. 'I have more important matters to see to.'

"Well, don't let me distract you." He hurries to remove his own helmet.
