Per Sigma's suggestion, Delta's prompting, and Omega's invitation, tonight is the first night Maine is welcomed back into the lives of the Ais. Dinner is set for an hour after Maine is due to arrive, giving him plenty of time to socialize, and there are board, card, and video games out in the family room for before dinner if needed and after dinner indeed. Everything is ready for the friend to be welcomed back by a joyful family.

'I've found him doodling at home sometimes,' York adds with a grin. 'He's not half bad.'

"Really?" That's kind of a cute image. He's sure Lou knows about it. Has she been holding out on him?

"What do you want him to draw after dinner?"

'Really. I can see if I can find some.' They're probably in his room. Wash might have a couple.

'A jungle with all the animals!' Eta says, bouncing on the couch.

"All the animals? The lions and the tigers and the bears? That'll take everyone's help to draw!" Sigma says in mock dismay.

'Oh my,' York says, grinning mostly to himself.

'We can all help!' Iota says. 'A giant picture!'

"Do we have paper big enough for that?" Sigma asks.

[depthlesslock]

'Do you have glue or sellotape?' York asks. 'We could stick several sheets together.'

Sigma grins fondly at his boyfriend. What a helpful genius. "I'm sure we have glue sticks somewhere," he says.

"I'll get them!" Eta volunteers.

York smiles back.

'Get them after supper, there's no point in getting all sticky now,' he says.

Don't laugh at that line, Sigma.

"Stay, E," Iota pleads, tugging at his sister's hand.

Oh, York sees that suppressed grin, Sig. He drops a wink at him over the twins' heads.

'Fiiine,' Eta sighs dramatically as she flops back down.

Sigma blushes. Thankfully the twins are happy to cuddle--Iota moreso than Eta--and don't notice.

We should get popcorn and watch a film,' Iota says.

'We've got supper soon,' York reminds him.

'A small film.'

"Please?" Eta says, wiggling at Sigma's side.

"All right," he says, rolling his eyes. "One episode of something. What should we watch?"

'Avatar!' they both cheer and York can't help but grin. Such twins.

"I should have known," Sigma says, groaning in jest. "All right. Let's watch an episode of Avatar." He reaches for the remote; the twins cheer again.

The twins squeal excitedly and York chuckles.

'Not hearing complaints from you, Sig,' he teases.

"I know better than to complain within earshot," he says, but he can't help laughing.

York begins to reply, but the twins shush the two of them as the intro and credits open on screen.

Heaven forbid they talk during the intro that they've seen dozens of times.

...okay, so it is adorable how much they giggle when Aang crashes into the boulder, and even Sigma cracks a smile.

God, York hasn't seen this in years, yet it's all flooding back! He soon finds himself laughing along with the others at the children's antics, though he loves the serious parts as well.

For all Sigma's pretending that he's too cool for this show, he does rather enjoy it. The twins--and York--make it easy, with their infectious laughter.

It's a good episode and although he's seen it before, he doesn't remember all of it and it's like getting to enjoy it for the first time all over again.

"Aang's so silly," Eta says.

"Is he your favorite?" Sigma teases. These season one episodes tend to be more ridiculous. He likes the ones after Zuko joins the team.

'Yeah, he's the awesome-est cause he's the Avatar,' she says happily.

'Well now you've spoiled it for me,' York teases.
