LOG: Anywhere you go, there you are
Who: Anyone who's out and about town
What: Mingling
Where: The business district and casino
When: A fairly normal day
Warnings: Please warn as needed
It's a rare day, one with clear skies and empty air, and everyone seems to be out and about, shopping and stopping in to various places of entertainment to make the most of it. Some people are even seen without their helmets, a risky behavior but one which they chose take the luxury of indulging in.
Today's curious though, for it's the day that Jimmy settles his newest acquisition into a basement room of the casino. The Transponser, a teleportation device, left to malfunction until the inventor who sold it to him can be located again, for yes, he's made himself scarce after this deception. Apparently getting money for his work was more attractive than perfecting the technology behind it.
In any case, it's a day for socializing and getting to know friends better and meet neighbors.

[But....she....doesn't assume she's being talked to, so she's still under this car, looking at all the pretty machine parts.]
[Because hey, why WOULD anyone be talking to her and why would they call her kid, she isn't REALLY a kid.]

He walks back over to the warthog, kneeling down beside Roxy, a less than impressed look on his face.]
What are you doing to my jeep?
no subject
[She looked at him in surprise.] ....is it yours? Whoops. [She grabs the edge and hauls herself out from under it.] Sorrys, but it just looks so COOL, and there's stuff under here that looks kinda diff from the other car stuff and I'm kinda curious what they do, didn't get to see a lot of vehicles like this back home.

Although one thing has to be sorted out first.]
Back home? Where are you from 'cause these are pretty standard around here, and most other planets.
no subject
But I also lived in the middle of bumfuck nowhere, so ya know. [Which was also true, middle of the ocean counts as nowhere, right?]
no subject
They don't have cars in New York?
[yeah. that's what we're focusing on.]
no subject
Like literally. Mom liked her privacy. Built her house on top of a waterfall in the woods.
no subject
But still, you really shouldn't go around touching people's cars. Especially mine. It's kind of a rental.
no subject
I wasn't gonna break it. I'm good wit' machines.
no subject
[This is weird, really weird. But it's information Grif hands onto regardless.]

no subject
[Grif can work with that considering he practically lives with one. Although she seems cooler than Simmons, not that that's difficult.]
But what are you doing here? This isn't exactly the place for computer-y type stuff.
Planet's kind of a shithole.
no subject
[She shrugged.] Didn't have a choice. Assholes made it unlivable and here I am.
[Well, okay, she got kidnapped by a teleporter, but assholes did make home unbearable.]
no subject
[Huh? Think you know a planet...probably a good thing he and his sister got off it when they did then.]
no subject
Dunno how the rest of Earth is.
no subject
Huh. Guess things were worse than I thought.
So who are you, anyway?
no subject
Roxy Lalonde. How 'bout you, Sunkist?
no subject
[He prefers going by his last name. His first name, Dexter, is far too nerdy. It takes a minute for him to remember his social niceties.]
Nice to meet you, I guess.
no subject
So this is your car?

[Granted, walking's always out of the question for Grif.]
