Church is a regular here. Not as a patron, hell no, but as a bartender. Usually, in fact almost always, in blue (especially his helmet), declaring his side the 'eagle' side. It's a themeing thing, okay? Don't question the theme.

And he really wishes the mercs would find other bars to hang out in, planning their whatevers and darkening doorsteps, but what's he gonna do, call security? So long as he gets paid, then whatever.

She's not sure what is spurring Florida to tell Omega to invite her out, but she's not going to complain. And they're at a place she can get alcohol, even better. She's dressed down in more casual and non Soldier attire, even wearing the purple lace scarf Florida made her. How he found the perfect color to match her eyes, she doesn't know.

Omega's easy to spot and she removes her helmet to as she slides into the saved seat once his belongs are out of the way.

"Hey."

Omega positively lights up when he sees her. "Hi," he says. "Nice scarf. How's your day been?"

"Thanks. Someone made it for me," she says with a small smile. "It's been fine. I think I found a job we can both take. I'll pass along the details to you later."

"That was nice of them. Did you see the scarf Maine made Delta? He's barely taken it off since he got it."

Omega leans forward. "To help with Delta's..." He trails off and signs IMPLANTS. "Florida told me that they shouldn't have failed at all, much less both at once. I'm glad he's going with the base medics and not where he got them before."

Beta would have been there before. He wonders if she had played cards with him while they waited to see Delta again. Alpha had taught him to count that day, or at least that's how Omega remembers it.

"Delta was telling me the same thing. I looked into the medic he had lined up and she's trustworthy." There's a small sigh and she leans against the counter.

"I don't trust any doctor that the counselor set him up with."

"Good. Thank you." Omega had met her, and liked her, but that meant very litle. "And you'll be there with us?"

"That's the plan. I was going to pick you all up to bring back to base and stay the whole time." Like hell she's not going to be there.

"He said he wanted you there." Did she know how much of a big deal that was? Delta didn't even like other people knowing about his implants -and Omega could respect that. That he actively wanted Tex to participate in this was huge. "Sigma's going to watch the littles, and I'm sure he'll be back on his feet in no time."

"Yeah, he told me." She doesn't grasp how huge this is, but she has an idea. It's not something she'll miss.

"Did they say how long the recovery time is?"

Omega shakes his head. "Depends on what part failed, and what you mean by recovery time. We could be able to take him home later that day, and he could be in the hospital for five days, unable to pick the twins up for two months. That's not even counting complications."

Omega's done his homework. He hasn't said anything to Delta, but he's been quietly laying plans for every likely possibility.

"There's that many variables? I thought they figured out which part failed and what they needed to do?" Wasn't that the point of his appointment not too long ago?

"They know the outside part doesn't work. But since it doesn't, there's no way to tell if the inside bits are still good." Omega shrugs. "And they always like to prepare you for the worst case scenario. People are stupid and do too much. Personally, I'm looking forward to Delta on painkillers. We should record it. He's going to be hilarious."

"Only if you don't put it up on the internet," she replies with a sigh. More issues to work out, great. "I'll help out when I can between work if Delta ends up out for the count for a while."

"We should be okay. I can make Sigma pull his weight, and I have a feeling Epsilon will be sticking closer to home than usual. Plus Maine isn't likely to fire me for being late if I have to cover extra." Omega smiles at her. "But we won't say no to seeing you around more. Theta's been talking about the movie non-stop, and Iota wants long hair just like yours."

"He wants long hair too? Going to let him grow it out then?" she asks. "I'll try to take them out of the house more. Just depends on when my weekends are free. I might be able to swing it more when they're out for the summer unless you have plans to throw them in summer school."

"As long as he keeps it clean," Omega says. "Delta didn't cut his hair for a long time. If Iota isn't going to fight brushing, I'm not going to dictate it to him."

He frowns. "No, Delta and I haven't talked about it yet. We probably should have already but it's been a little hectic for a while. Theta and Gamma's grades are good enough that they don't need it, at least. They all loved going out with you."

"No summer programs or camps in their future?" she asks. "Could be good for them. I don't know what they're offering around here."

Would give the boys something to do in the summer beyond hanging around the house.

Those things cost money, and Omega has no idea how much the family has. That's Delta's deal. Probably not enough. But he's not going to say that to Tex and start fighting about money. "Delta might have some ideas. I've been a little busy keeping the older ones in one piece."

It wouldn't be a bad idea, though. He'll talk to Delta about it later.

"If he does, let me know. We can work something out." Those types of programs can't cost too much, right?

"So, what do you want to drink?"

"Sometimes we have a problem scheduling it around the buses," Omega offers. He really should look into how much a car would cost. Maybe it's finally possible, and the older the twins get, the more they need to be taken around.

"Scotch on the rocks, two fingers, middle shelf," Omega recites. "Please."

That's not a drink she expected him to order and she shrugs.

"Scotch it is. I'll get a shot of tequila, mid shelf too," she says with a slight teasing tone as she glances at Omega. How often does he go out to drink?

"What?" he asks. Did Florida set him up for something? "Something wrong with that?"

"Didn't take you for a scotch drinker," she answers. "Why?"

Omega looks down at the bar. "I've never had it before," he mumbles.

What does a Scotch drinker look like?
