Take A Chance

Who: Agent York (Native) and Sigma Ai

Where: York's safe house

York's got his green coat and helmet on as he drives down the road to pick Sigma up. Not that he thinks there's a secret agent at the uni looking for weaknesses amongst the For Hires and therefore could use Sigma against him if they're seen together. ...Well there might be. In any case, he's not going to take the risk so green it is. Maybe they'll think he's Delta if they don't get too close.

He pulls up outside the campus in the main parking lot just as the first students are trickling out. Turning off the engine and turning down the music, he gets out to wait for his boyfriend, humming happily and grinning as he scans the crowds, waving once he spots Sigma.

"I'm tempted to try it myself a few times," he says. "For science."

'I'll happily help you..' What's the word? 'Experiment.'

"I was hoping you would," he says. "We might have to try over several meetings, though, because getting you cooled down to a control temperature will probably take longer than either of us would like."

He'll take whatever excuse he can get to see his boyfriend.

'What can I say? Being around you gets me heated up.' He grins over at him, even though his face is obscured. He's sure Sigma gets the message. 'Several meetings sounds good to me. Aren't you supposed to repeat experiments?'

He definitely gets the message, and though he blushes a little, it's with satisfaction. "As many times as possible, to make sure your data is valid," he says.

A week was too long to be away.

'Lots of repeats? I can handle that.' If it gets him to spend more time with Sigma.

He might be speeding. Just a little bit. While it's great having Sigma here in the car with him where they can talk, he really wants to get to the safe house where they can talk and hug and kiss.

"Regularly," he says. "It's encouraged, in fact."

He curls his hand around York's. "Though I do need to establish a baseline temperature. You're pretty hot on your own, you know."

York very much wants to turn his hand to hold Sigma's, but it's probably a better idea t keep it on the steering wheel, so he splays his fingers and traps Sigma's in between them instead.

'Oh, I know,' he says lightly. 'Just not so hot as to make things burst into flame like you.'

"Maybe I just have to get you warm enough," he says. "As part of the experiment." He holds his hand loose around York's, not wanting to let go nor interfere with his driving.

'I like the sound of that,' he agrees. Right now, he's enjoying the simple warmth of Sigma's hand around his.

"It'll be good practice for going out to see the stars," he says. "Doesn't the desert get awfully cold after dark?"

[depthlesslock]

'Yep. So wrap up warm and we'll bring blankets.' He turns off the mainstreet and starts winding through the smaller streets.

"I can do that," he says. He glances out the window to see where they're going but decides he would rather watch York.

It only takes a few more minutes to reach the safe house. York parks at the other end of the street as always just in case someone recognises the vehicle.

"So do all of you have extra houses lying around as part of the job?" He asks. This is a pretty nice place.

[depthlesslock]

'Yeah. It's a good idea to have safe houses in case the base gets compromised or you need to be out of base for whatever reason,' he explains as he gets out. This isn't the one he brought Delta to.

"That makes sense to me," he says. He just wonders what Omega might do about this.

'Yeah, it's handy.' He locks the car, then takes Sigma's hand as they head up the street to his house.

He leans into York and lets him lead. "I'm excited to see what your second home is like," he says. "Especially if we're less likely to be ambushed."

[depthlesslock]

'If we get ambushed here, it will likely be violent,' he admits. 'So let's hope that doesn't happen.' The lock to the house has to be hacked. There's no way of unlocking it the normal way.

"I meant by Maine and Louisiana," he admits. "Or even Washington, if they aren't busy with their significant others. Guess I shouldn't joke about your security though."

York grins as he picks the lock apart. 'They don't know where my safe houses are. Well Wash does, but the others don't. And I doubt Wash is gonna just turn up here out of the blue.'

"He probably has his own place for him and his girl," Sigma says.

This is the first time he's seen York work a lock. He watches, fascinated, as those deft fingers ease the lock open.

He snickers. 'We all have at least two, I think. So I can wel imagine Wash taking her back to one at some point. Did you know I pick pocketed her the same day she met him?'

"You didn't," he says. "Did you know who she was? What's she like?"
