Log: When I Talk You Should Listen
Who: Felix (Native), Oquirrh (Original)
What: You thought for a second that you could get away with this? Seriously?
Where: Oquirrh's safehouse but really it's Florida's
When: Friday Night 8/14
Warnings: Possible Violence, Definitely Cursing
She really thought that breaking away was going to have no consequences. Well he was going to prove her wrong. He had been watching her all of yesterday and had a clear cut idea of where the little bird was staying at. A little old safehouse towards the outer edges of this crappy city.
This was going to be fun. He can sync up later with the team and the other primes.
Breaking into the apartment was relatively easy. Just a nice slip of his knife and maybe a moment or two with a decoder and he was in. Felix surveyed the place with a slight disdain. God Oquirrh can be one boring individual. There were a couple of her stupid knitted stuff laying about. Kicking the needles and yarn off the couch, he stretches out along its length. At least it was comfy.
He crossed his legs lightly and spins his knife in his hands. Now all he had to do was wait.

Shower next, then bed.

"What no hello or how are you doing? I'm hurt," he calls out.
no subject
It couldn't be.
"I didn't know you were there, Felix," she says, forcing a smile into her voice. "I wasn't expecting you."
Can he see her? She can't tell. She dips her hand into her pocket and sends a frantic message.
no subject
"Sit. Down. Now."
no subject
"I'm listening."

What he finds is no threat, but a girl bleeding on the floor. Florida quickly tucks the gun and grenade away and drops to his knees next to Oquirrh. His personal med-kit is pulled from his belt and he wishes Omega was here.
"Hey kiddo, sorry I'm late. Traffic was hell," he teases, because that's how he handles bad situations when he isn't skinning something.
He pops the case open and starts pulling out gauze packets, a needle of sedative, and a spray-nozzle for his biofoam dispenser. It's a very small fortune he's ready to spend on her, but can he help it? He's the reason she's here, that she's hurt, that...
Don't think about it. He rips a gauze packet open with his hands and teeth and presses it against the shoulder wound. That seems the worst part for the moment.
"Tell me everything, Pajaro. Let me hear your lovely voice."

"No quiero ser una avecita. La ala--"
Her wing. Her arm. Whatever. Words and languages bleed together and she can't stop crying.

He pulls out Oquirrh's phone and clicks onto the Informant. He should be here by now. Probably tending to that bird downstairs. Isn't that sweet of him to do?
Did you get my present? I should've brought a bow. Maybe some ribbon. :D

Florida freezes when the message flashes up on his screen, claiming to be from Oquirrh. Truth be told, he can't help the animal snarl that comes from him at the sight of those words.
I have a place I take people like you. Drive a meat hook through your hands and hang you from the ceiling, with chains to reinforce. I'll start by cutting off your toes and feeding them to you. Then maybe cut your lips off so you can't smile. You're going to beg me for your death.

Her arm. Will she be able to use her arm again?
"No sé. Se he fallado a usted." Sobs choke her voice, but she manages to add, "Lo siento."
["My arm." "I don't know. I failed you." "I'm sorry."]

Felix was in town which meant more trouble for her. It meant for certain that she wasn't going to be able to break away from Control effectively. He was going to act as her leash to them. They knew that he would cause much more damage if left unchecked.
Louisiana brushes away Florida's grounded comment. Fine whatever. She's already stuck in a hotel room enough that it won't bother her. She had more important things to worry about.
She gets up and starts pacing. Her injuries seething in a burn-like agony but she didn't care. Oquirrh was hurt.
This was her fault.

At last he arrives, parks the bike in an alley, and carries Oquirrh in and through the door.
"Lou!" he shouts as he enters. "Meg!?"
no subject
Will she ever see him again?
Halta. Ojalá que sÃ.
She barely has the strength to cling to Florida this time, but she's awake. She'll make it, at least to wherever it is he has taken her.
[Stop. Yes, God willing.]
no subject
"In here," she shouts. Louisiana heads out to the opening into the hallway and helps guide Oquirrh over to the couch. Mon dieu she was a mess. Felix did a number on her.
"O-Oq? Hey. It's going to be ok."
no subject
"Where is Omega?" he demands, getting his medkit back out and carefully cutting through the tape and gauze he had bound her shoulder wound with.

"Oquirrh? Florida?" He practically runs into the house. He can't believe--won't believe--what he sees. This wasn't supposed to happen to her. Not to Oquirrh.
"Oh, god," he whispers.
no subject
Everything will be all right. Somehow.
The airlock hisses open. Who's leaving her? She turns, her eyes half-open. A figure in familiar gray and yellow stands there. Not leaving. Coming.
"Wash?" she whispers. She bursts into tears all over again. Happy tears, she tells herself, because she's relieved to see him. It might even be halfway true.
no subject
"Hey, Oquirrh," he says softly, kneeling down beside her. "It's me, Wash." He leans in to give her forehead a kiss. "It's gonna be alright, yeah? You're strong--you--" He takes another deep breath. Can't let his voice crack. He's got to be here for her, dammit. "--You'll get through this. I'll help. We'll all help."
no subject
So many people have come for her. Deep down, she wishes they wouldn't. She's not worth the trouble. Yet it's so good to see him, to feel his lips against her forehead, that the thought vanishes from her mind.
"Thank you," she says instead, and she truly does cry happy tears this time.
no subject
Whoever did this is going to pay. That twist in Wash's gut makes him think he already knows who--or what--did it.

He ends up finding the two girls in the living room. Just fantastic that both of them were now in various states of injury.
"Ugh...hey."
no subject
"Hey," she whispers. He made it. He'll know what to say. This hospital visit won't be such a disaster after all.
no subject
She raises her head up tiredly. "Hrm? Oh. Look who showed up. Salut."
no subject
"What's the damage?"
no subject
It sounds so casual when she says it now, but dread pools in her gut. So close, and she's not out of danger yet.
