Log; Happy Birthday, Boyfriend

The problem with having a clever live-in boyfriend is that Sigma has no idea how to hide his birthday present. Clearly, the solution is to not keep the present in the apartment. Still, what to get him?

Ultimately, it was the beignets that gave him the idea. He ends up not getting anything until the morning of; then, an hour before York would wake up, Sigma sneaks out of bed. A note on his pillow should keep York from worrying if he wakes up early. Sigma takes a spare outfit into the bathroom so he can change quietly later, then puts on street clothes and he's ready to hit the store and the Green Fairy.

He's home within a half hour of York's usual wake-up time, arms loaded with groceries and a latte for York. Hopefully the smell doesn't wake York. Moving quickly, Sigma snatches a length of gold ribbon from the bag and hurries into the bathroom. He stowed the skinny jeans that York loves in here and his soft brown button-up shirt that he bought for the party at Errera tonight. He unbuttons the sleeves, though, and only does the second-to-last button up the front so his shirt hands open. All the easier for York to see his collar, which he puts on now. Last of all, he slips the ribbon through his belt loops and ties the biggest bow he can manage.

There. The first part of the present is wrapped. Now he snatches everything else and carries it to the bedside table: the cinnamon spice latte, whipped cream, caramel and chocolate syrups, fresh strawberries, and even a little bowl of powdered sugar. For a final touch, he sets the cuffs beside them. Hopefully he did a decent job rigging up the headboard so they can use the cuffs more effectively. For now, though, he gets into place, climbing onto the bed and straddling his boyfriend.

"Hey, birthday boy," he croons. "I brought you breakfast in bed and a present to unwrap."

York sleeps through the whole thing. He might not have been sleeping so well lately, but being with Sigma helps a ton and when Sigma gets up, he only makes a small noise and turns into the warm, recently-vacated space, burying his face into the pillow, breathing in the smell of his boyfriend and still asleep.

By the time Sigma gets back, he's more sprawled out, but still dead to the world. Sigma could be doing everything at normal volume, or even louder and he wouldn't stir much.

The weight that settles on him, however, is another matter. With a grunt, he shifts, frowning slightly as the first streams of consciousness kick in. Then the smell of coffee and the sound of Sigma's voice hit him and that's enough to get him to try and open his eyes, blinking blearily up at the slowly focusing haze in front of him. He smiles as he recognises Sigma, and rubs the sleep out of his good eye while suppressing a yawn.

'Mm, morning,' he says, looking back up now his vision's cleared a bit. He blinks. Blinks again. ...Is he seeing this right?

"Happy birthday, you," he croons. Give York a minute, he knows. He'll come around.

The image isn't going away and York's not sure he wants it to. Scratch that, he definitely doesn't want it to. The more his vision clears, the wider his eyes get.

'...Sigma?' Oh. Oh wow. 'You... Please tell me I'm not dreaming.'

"You're not dreaming," he says. "I thought breakfast in bed would be a good way to start celebrating you today."

'This is more than... breakfast...' He trails off, his gaze roaming over Sigma now his sight's woken up. The bow makes him grin.

"And your present. Whenever you feel like unwrapping it." He wiggles his hips a little, though York seems to already appreciate the point.

He licks his dry lips and gets his hands out from under the covers and runs them up Sigma's legs, resting them on his hips for a moment and then letting them keep trailing up, under his shirt.

'You look incredible,' he says.

"Thanks. I thought I'd dress up for someone incredible." Those hands make his breath catch; when he speaks again, he doesn't even have to try for his sultry voice. "Today, I'm all yours."

'Well you did a damn good job,' he breathes, admiring the way his jeans hug his hips or how the colors work together perfectly. Sigma's next comment has him shuddering. One hand slides back down to his hip and the other crooks a finger in the D-ring of Sigma's collar and he pulls him down for a kiss.

He barely has time to thank York before he's being tugged down. Of course he doesn't mind; he spreads himself languidly on top of York for easy access to a hearty kiss.

York kisses him fully and completely, his hand still holding the ring, other fingers brushing over his neck while his free hand slides up and down his toned back.

Humming at the touch, Sigma slips his arms close to York's sides and trails his hands along his chest.

York presses up into the touch, his hand leaving the ring to gently run two fingers under the the collar, brushing over Sigma's skin. Then he reaches for the one done bbutton, undoes it and slips the shirt off.

Sigma laughs low in his throat. He really likes that shirt, but for now, it'll only be in the way.

Funny how part of what makes clothes like this so appealing is getting to take them off your partner. York would point this out, but his mouth is busy with other things at the moment. His hands roam over Sigma while he kicks the covers off him.

Keeping York's mouth busy is the name of the game this morning. Sigma licks at his lips before pulling back just enough to let the covers fall away.

York's lips part to let him in and his hands find his way down to Sigma's hips and then further down to his butt. Damn, he does love these jeans on him.

Sigma's tongue trails along the inside of York's lips. He also loves these jeans, especially when his boyfriend responds like this. Those hands make him shiver and arch back into those fantastic hands.

He moans, his tongue meeting Sigma's as one hand moves back over his hip to find the bow at the front of his jeans and pulling it loose. He chuckles as he does because it's brilliant and ridiculous and so totally them.

Oh, so he's unwrapping his present first?

Actually, that's completely understandable. Sigma will be more comfortable for breakfast once he's out of his jeans. He licks under York's jaw when he laughs.

He moans as he always does when Sigma teases him there. He pulls the ribbon out and teasingly brushes it over Sigma's face, then sets it down to one side and goes back to easing his pants open.

The ribbon makes him laugh harder. It feels nice to be free of those jeans. Climbing into bed calls for more flexibility than jeans allow, after all.

Not that he helps. York is more than capable of opening his own present.

Getting the jeans down takes work, given how tight they are, but between them, they mange it and once they're off, York wastes no time in running his hands up Sigma's bare legs.

Sigma leans in to kiss him again, no longer hungrily but teasing. Little kisses along York's jaw should do the trick.

York lets him tease for a bit, then chases his lips until he manages to catch them with his own.
