LOG: Restock, Aisle Every Single One

It's not that they were eaten out of house and home. But they were pretty much eaten out of house and home. With a family that often has to have shopping done every day, keeping food stocked for bad storms isn't easy. There is always a supply of extra rice, beans and canned veggies when things go bad, and they've almost run out.

Which is why Delta's here, and not just with a little cart. If York wants to spend time with him, it has to be on a timetable that doesn't ruin Delta's carefully managed schedule. Which means getting things together. And York has a damn car. So it is that Delta leads his friend through the grocery store with two carts. Bless the thing for already having restocked after the storm.

"We need more bread, and definitely peanut butter and jelly."

"Both," Delta sighs. Yeah, he's a fuck up. "I just... didn't want to be there. Badly."

'I know,' he says quietly. 'But it's over now, you can look forward to meeting this guy at the E&A.'

[protective_logic]

"A night out would be a blessing. I just need an ight Omega will let me go out to drink."

The night with TC... well, he needs an overnight for that.

'Like I said, I can fill in if you need some time out and Omega can't find the time to look after the kids,' he says.

Asking York and Sigma to stay the night is too much, so Delta smiles. "Yes, I'd like it. I'll tell you when Wash and I have rough plans for. Would that work?"

'That would work great,' he replies, smiling. Yes! This is really good!

[protective_logic]

"When he tells me he's free I'll see if I can't give you an answer."

And look, Theta's favorite cereal is on sale and with a car he can take advantage of it, so he grabs two boxes.

'Cool, just keep me updated. I'll try and keep my evenings free.' For the love of all that is holy, let this work out for Delta.

[protective_logic]

Not that there was the 'this' that York seemed to think. Just two guys going out to drink. "I'll try for a Wednesday, given Sigma's usual schedule."

'That sounds good, works for us both.' He's pretty sure he doesn't have anything booked for Wednesday. If he does, he can probably rearrange things.

"Then we may hopefully have something arranged. Now, did you see the poptarts? Maybe that's a sufficient sale to justify a box as a treat..."

Of course with their family everyone gets one poptart out of a box.

'Cool. Uh, I did. They were over... here. Okay, what flavor?' It's very important to get the right poptart flavor.

"The only thing we can all agree on is brown sugar cinnamon," Delta smiles.

Suddenly the world feels like it's shaping up.

York laughs and scours the shelves until he finds the right one and puts it in the cart.

'One box or two?'

[protective_logic]

Delta considers the cart and everything in it, and the fact that Christmas just passed, and he sighs.

"One."

[depthlesslock]

He puts the box in the cart. There's eight per box, so everyone will get one at least, unless Church and Tex come over.

'Two if I pay for the second one?'

[protective_logic]

"I could be cool with that," Delta smiles.

[depthlesslock]

Smiling, York adds a second box. That'll make the kids happy.

Feel like they covered everything they need?

[protective_logic]

"Now, let's get back to the shopping for things we actually need," Delta smiles, leading them on.

Dairy?

'Hey, pop tarts are important!' he defends, nonetheless grinning.
