Omega needed out of the house. He loves his family but that would have been too much togetherness even without the extra people.

So as soon as he can, after the kids are in bed, he escapes out to the Eagle and Asp. Where else can he stay as long as he wants this late at night?

And Church is there. They should talk, without fighting. He actually...isn't all that different from how Omega remembers, considering the amnesia.

Apparently they are able to talk without fighting now, if talking about the presents gotten is any indication. Still, he's surprised to see Omega there. When was the last time they saw each other face to face? Theta's party?

"Waiting for someone?"

"No," Omega says. "I'm avoiding someone. How did you weather the storm?"

Hopefully without small children hanging on him.

"Looked out the window, saw it was shit, went back to fucking bed. Ate cereal, watched tv, had a couple days off straight. It was glorious. I mean, the sticky shit was pretty bad, don't get me wrong, but the not having to go anywhere was awesome."

[baruthumos]

Lucky bastard.

"You didn't get sick of being stuck inside?" Omega hates not getting to leave. He needs something new.

"Uh, no? It means not having to deal with anyone, or with the weather directly. A long weekend is a pretty sweet deal to me."

[baruthumos]

"I guess if you live alone that wouldn't be so bad."

Omega hates being alone more than even being cooped up.

[alphawho]

"It's not like I'm living with you guys or literally anyone right now."

[baruthumos]

"Do you like living alone?" Omega has a deep distrust of people living alone. What if something happens?

[alphawho]

"Beats having weird, annoying, obnoxious, or otherwise asshole roomies. Or less than roomies." Look, he's slept in places that weren't exactly rooms. Or beds. Or indoors. Not that he plans on saying as much. "I get to do whatever I want, keep whatever hours I want, and I can afford it. Even get to walk around naked if I feel it."

"Why would you want to do that?" Omega shakes his head. "Well, if it makes you happy, don't let me stop you." If he wants to slip in the shower and die, that's not Omega's problem.

[alphawho]

"What, be naked, or live alone? I know you've grown up with a full house, but doesn't it get obnoxious sometimes?"

[baruthumos]

"No," Omega lies. He loves living in a house full of people and he never admits otherwise. People might think he wants the littles to go.

[alphawho]

"Dude, a house full of kids. I don't think a guy gets much time to himself except leaving for like work and school and shit. Doesn't sound awesome to me, but to each their own."

[baruthumos]

"I leave a lot," is all Omega will say. Less now, working as a mercenary. "And I have a room at the base."

[alphawho]

"See, even you need some time away, even if it's necessary. So it's not so weird to live alone."

[baruthumos]

"Sigma was for a while," Omega says. "It didn't last."

And then York moved in, Omega didn't know there was anything worse than his baby brother all alone.

[alphawho]

"Eh, different strokes, different folks. Maybe if I ever got someone steady I'd want to live with them and make the place less quiet, but whatever."

[baruthumos]

Church is not Alpha, not in any way that counts. He's part of the family, by both DNA and membership in the Aiden Price Fucked My Life Club. But he is not Alpha, and things that are true for Alpha are not necessarily true for Church.

Sometimes it's really hard for Omega to remember that.

"Really? You're okay all by yourself? You don't get lonely?"

[alphawho]

"Why is this bothering you so much?"

[baruthumos]

"Our family does not, historically, do well alone."

Or out of Omega's sight.

[alphawho]

"Are you about to propose I have to come live with all you guys once you move so I can...do well?"

[baruthumos]

"No." He wouldn't turn Church away, but he's not going to ask. "It's just different. Even Epsilon never talks about leaving, and I blame York for Sigma's apartment."

[alphawho]

"Do you want the family to just stay together? Like, the family that's already been living together. Don't you think it's good for Sigma to live away?"

[baruthumos]

"That's more than one question," Omega points out. "If Delta moved out...well, the rest of us would be fucked but he'd do fine. And if Epsilon moved out it would take us a while to notice. But Sigma is a goddamn child playing house. It's a good thing Tex is paying for everything because little things like paying bills and turning the lights off are beneath him."

Yeah. Omega's still mad.
