"It was a hell of a mission," Wash says, and there's a hint of a grin on his lips.

"You gonna be actually okay or are you just saying it to seem all tough and badass?"

"Are you gonna believe me if I say I'm fine, or do you need to do a physical exam for yourself?"

"I only give booze as prescription meds, not actual meds. I'd be a pretty shitty doctor."

"Good thing I'm not looking for meds then," Wash replies.

[alphawho]

"You're looking for drinkable painkiller, and I got it all right here."

[notyourrookie]

"What do you recommend? For medicinal purposes?"

[alphawho]

"You know, you are allowed to come in with your own preferences. If I were you I'd just start hammering back shots until colors start blurring together and you can taste purple."

[notyourrookie]

"On the ship it was either the cheapest, strongest shit we could get, or crappy beer. I like trying new things. But tasting purple sounds like an excellent plan."

"So, I mean, I guess I could make you something raspberry-ish? Or something?"

[notyourrookie]

"Sure. Hit me up. I'm gonna be here for a while." He wants to drink until nothing hurts.

[alphawho]

Something raspberry with also plenty of booze it is. "So like it was a job right? Not you playing like vigilante hero and got your ass kicked or something dumb?"

[notyourrookie]

"There you go, mistaking me for an actually decent person," Wash replies, rolling his eyes. "Yes, it was for a job."

[alphawho]

"Well you're sure as fuck not an un-decent person. Indecent? Indecent person."

[notyourrookie]

He snorts. "I'm definitely not a good one. And I think indecent means something else. Like... sexual something else."

[alphawho]

"It means like taking your clothes off in public, I guess, but shut up, I was trying to find the opposite of decent and that's what I got."

[notyourrookie]

"Nah, I wouldn't do that," he says. Communal showers are one thing, public is quite another. "I'm just an asshole."

[alphawho]

"I haven't seen it, but I guess being an asshole of some sort sometimes is a requirement of being a merc. Here, drink your stupid raspberry nightmare of a drink."

It's in a shot glass, and a dark, sticky purple-red. He sniffs it and then downs it in one go, feeling it burn down his throat. "Damn, that has a kick. Is that what you're gonna call it then? Raspberry nightmare?"

"Contrary to popular belief, I do not, in fact, make drinks up on the fly. Mostly. If I spent all day creating new versions of drinks, I want some fucking royalties out of it."

"Maybe you should get into that. Make up some new cocktails. Base them on people you know."

"So I can make the Washington and the Washington 2: Wash Harder?"

"Yes, absolutely. Mine just has more kick to it."

"But his has way more stupid little umbrellas."
