TC's in his usual spot on his usual night. What's not usual is how close he looks to happy.

Church can't say he pays enough attention to the guy to notice that he looks almost happier than he usually does, but he'll get bartenderly attention all the same. "The usual?"

"Sure," TC says. He loves the fruity things. "Or wait, what do you have that's green?"

[alphawho]

"Green?" The cocked eyebrow is implied in his tone. "I can whip you up something green. What for?"

[shipitsupersonic]

TC pauses. This is the guy that knows Delta. "I got something published in a well-respected, though niche, periodical," he says. What he means is "my femmeslash Februray fic got recc'ed by a big-name fan."

It's dorky, but it will hopefully save Delta some interrogation about his sex life.

[alphawho]

"Oh man, you're a nerdy type? No wonder you and Delta hang around each other." Yeah. Sure. He's nerdy, Church. That's definitely it.

TC's in too good of a mood to be more than mildly offended. "No, I'm not," he says. "I create things. I don't just record them."

Nerds are so boring. They change nothing. TC will admit that they are necessary, but he wants as little to do with them as possible.

The last couple of weeks have felt like very long ones, and honestly, York feels like he deserves a night at the bar. So he sits down heavily in his seat, but perks up a little when he sees Church behind the counter.

[alphawho]

"You look like shit." That's hi in Church-speak. "Having an equally shitty time?"

[depthlesslock]

'Well you're as subtle as ever,' he mutters. 'Jack Daniels.'

[alphawho]

"It's my middle name. Leonard Subtle Church. You're as subtle as being hit with a bag of bricks. Like, repeatedly," he unnecessarily adds, pouring out a Jack.

[depthlesslock]

'Sure feel like I've been hit with a bag of bricks.' He takes the drink and chugs probably a bit too much of it in one go. 'How's life at the bar?'

[alphawho]

That's concerning. "It's life. Once all the gunk and goo got all scraped and melted and whatever'd off and things got restocked, it's been business as usual." He tips the bottle. "Another?"

There's a purpling bruise spreading across his side. Bad landing. He'd forgotten how much impact the armour could absorb and how much it fucking hurt when you didn't have it. But it's just a bruise in the end. He's had worse. He's just a little stiff when he gingerly sits down at the bar of the Eagle and Asp.

[alphawho]

Church has to stare for a minute because the guy's sitting a little odd. Moves funny. "You need something to dull the whatever?" he offers. "Or like, a heating pad maybe?"

[notyourrookie]

He opens his mouth to make a quick retort, except it's at that moment that he tries to turn to face Church and yeah, that is a bad bad movement to make right now. He winces, arm curling protectively against his ribs. "Um, yeah. That might be... good."

[alphawho]

"...You sure you wouldn't rather get checked out by a medic? Or take some painkillers and not booze?"

[notyourrookie]

"It's just bruising," Wash says tiredly. "I- I fell. But that's all. Bruising. Had worse."

[alphawho]

"You fell on your entire chest? On a job?"

This, Delta has decided, is something he needs to ask in person. And so here he is. Granted, there is also the fact that he's having trouble sleeping for all new reasons, so the alcohol helps. But mostly here he is to see his older brother.

Delta takes a seat at the very end of the blue bar to make sure the least amount of people could possibly hear him, and then he waits for his brother.

[alphawho]

Even though it's his brother, he's easy to overlook. Still, Church makes sure to hit everyone up at least once and-- "Sup. More choco-coffee goodness for you?"

[protective_logic]

"No thank you. I'm looking to sleep tonight. Just not easy," Delta admits. "I don't suppose you can make that pineapple coconut thing you did that one time without alcohol? If not, just give it to me with."

He hesitates for a moment before taking a key out of his pocket and putting it on the counter. "I promised you this."

[alphawho]

He looks at the key for a long moment before swiping it and shoving it in a pocket, immediately distracting his hands with making the requested drink. "You're sure about this?"

[protective_logic]

"I live for my family. That includes you. We're having dinner Thursday. We can do it earlier in the day if you'll join us."

[alphawho]

"I... When you say we're having dinner. You mean uh. Like. Everyone?"
