Log: There's No Place Like Home
Who: Agent York, anyone at base
What: Coming home at last
Where: For Hire base
When: Sunday 8/9 midday
Warnings: None
There's no place like home, York thinks as he grins up at the building he's been away from for almost exactly two months. It hasn't changed at all, not that he'd expected it to, but the familiarity makes him smile so wide it almost hurts his face.
Sure, he's wheelchair bound and will be until he can get the strength back into his legs, but he's finally home and will soon be back among his friends. Plus he knows the medics here, so the care will be with people he's familiar with and who are familiar with him and that will make things a hell of a lot easier.
He's wheeled up to the door where he insists on letting himself in, tapping in the codes he's known for years and thanking God for the hundredth time that the bullet to his head didn't damage his motor functions. Learning to deal with only having one eye had been hard, recovering his speech is going to be just as tricky. Having to relearn how to move, how to use his hands would have been beyond torture.
The door swings open and he's pushed inside, grinning even at the plain hallway while he takes his helmet - his own helmet, finally returned to him that morning - off and holds it in his lap. He's been practicing with Obi for this.
'I'mm o- h-ho~ome!'

"York does," Wash replies. "But not so he can wire the sound system to blast ABBA through the halls."

What is that.
Wash's gaze snaps to the little red dot on the wall. A laser. A fucking laser.
That thing better not move.

He can't look. Turning to the pancakes and the fresh fruit, he muffles a laugh before it reaches his lips.

"There's a fucking. Moving laser. On the wall."
If his death glare isn't good enough, he'll have to take action.
"Who. Has. The laser pointer."

It wasn't him. It really wasn't. He's laughing so hard that he has to put down his plate.
no subject
"Right, because that laugh is very convincing. I am five hundred percent convinced." Wash cannot believe this. "And now you're going to give York ideas."
no subject
"Give it over," he says, trying to keep a straight face. "Or no pancakes."

No pancakes? Really, Maine?
"Look!" He gestures wildly at the wall and the newly-appeared laser. "That's not me! See?" Not that his laughter helps. Wash looks hopelessly irritated, even twitchy. He's never seen Recovery this hilariously worked up.

If it's not Sigma, then that leaves...
"York! York, you just had surgery, it is too early for pranks."
no subject
Not the source of the tool, though Maine is sure that York will rat him out if given the chance.

The laser keeps moving. Wash will start trying to catch it if he keeps it up long enough. He's already making small movements towards it, then stopping himself.
no subject
"Why are you going us when you clearly want to attack the laser?" he teases.
no subject
He's inching toward the laser, slowly, like a cat stalking a mouse. He doesn't even realize it, though. The temptation is just too strong.
"I'm not attacking anything." He shoots a look at York. "yet."
