LOG: What You Get Folks

Who: Delta Ai (Native), Maine (Native), Omega Ai (Native)
What: Family bonding... with a middle man.
Where: Movie Theater at the Gulch Mall.

Warnings: Delta and Omega don't get along.

It is easier, of course, to do this apart. But the problem is that things aren't that easy anymore. They are having a problem with a lot of this. Having problems with a lot of things lately. But Maine was helping, and Delta is furious that Omega even brought the man into it. This was his boyfriend, and Omega's friend. They didn't need him in the middle of their squabble. And Delta definitely didn't need him to be here. But here, in the end, is where they are.

Delta waits outside of the theater, trying to ignore how uncomfortable he is in the open, waiting. Waiting for Omega. Waiting for his meddling boyfriend. Waiting for... well, something. Anything that proves he's getting better. That it's getting better. That he's not completely ruined.

[maine_makes_growly_noises]

He sits down with Delta on his right and looks at the menu. "Like the bleu cheese burger," he says. "Or the Western. Onion rings, bacon, cheese. Louisiana likes the Hawaiian."

[protective_logic]

Delta shudders as he looks at all those options, and he ultimately sets his menu aside. "I believe I'll stick to a regular cheeseburger myself."

[baruthumos]

"Bacon and onions for me," Omega says. "And mythical steak fries."

[maine_makes_growly_noises]

That's easy enough. Maine decides to try the peppercorn burger, complete with bacon and onion straws. He orders a lemonade with it, something to cut the kick from the spices better than plain water would.

[protective_logic]

"Can I have a milkshake?" Delta asks of the table.

[baruthumos]

"Of course," Omega says. "You can get whatever you want."

Why is he asking instead of just ordering it?

[maine_makes_growly_noises]

"Yes," Maine says definitively. Actually, a vanilla milkshake does sound good... No, lemonade will be fine.

[protective_logic]

"Thank you," Delta smiles. "Banana please."

[baruthumos]

That sounds gross, but Omega's not going to be the one sucking on a banana. He'll stick with diet coke.

[maine_makes_growly_noises]

Their server takes their orders back to the kitchen and returns with a basket of steak fries. As promised, the wedges of spiced potato have been fried until crispy. The server also leaves three little bowls of condiments: ketchup, a barbecue dipping sauce, and something called "fry sauce" that Maine has tried but doesn't care for. He eats his fries plain.

Delta frowns and dips one of the wedges into the 'fry sauce' and after a bite he grins. "These are amazing!"

[baruthumos]

Omega hoards the barbeque sauce. "Certainly lived up to the hype," he agrees, munching on one of his own. "And free refills?"

[maine_makes_growly_noises]

He grins at their enthusiasm. "All we can eat," he says. "Glad you like them. Save room for burgers, though."

[protective_logic]

"Why?" Delta asks. The burger could be lunch tomorrow.

[baruthumos]

"Are they not good reheated?" Omega asks. He had the same plan as Delta.

[maine_makes_growly_noises]

Maine considers this. "They're really good, and buns sometimes get soggy in the fridge," he says.

[protective_logic]

"I can live with that," Delta shrugs. "Makes two great meals instead of one."

Let no one say the Ais don't know how to true free food into two meals.

[baruthumos]

"Soggy buns are easy to avoid," Omega agrees. "Then there's some for tomorrow."

[maine_makes_growly_noises]

He shakes his head. There's no arguing with that logic. He knows better. "Then have as many fries as you want," he says, helping himself to another.

[protective_logic]

Delta smiles and dips her fries into the sauce again, humming in pleasure. "These are going to be great with my milkshake."

[baruthumos]

Omega can't believe anyone would willingly eat anything banana flavors, but he's going to keep his mouth shut and eat more fries.

[maine_makes_growly_noises]

"Perfect," he says. It's wonderful to see them smiling together.

[protective_logic]

"Is anyone here going to get sick if I dip my fries into my milkshake?" Delta asks.

Normally he prefers chocolate but... cold chocolate dairy? Going to make him think naughty things.

[baruthumos]

"I think I'll live," Omega says dryly. So gross. Why does his brother put such gross things in his mouth?

[maine_makes_growly_noises]

"Go ahead." He knows someone else who used to do that. Who, he can't remember, but it certainly won't bother him. Vanilla might have been a better flavor for it, though.
