Warnings:

Nida, invited over and with express orders to see that Theta behaves and starts his packing for the family's move, waits at the door after he's rung the bell. In his hands rests a box of assorted cookies from the store bakery, in his backpack some games in case the littlest ones he's heard about need distracted, and on his lips a small smile. Finally he can check in on the little guy for real.

"Avenger?" Nida asks, confused. "What's that?"

'It's the name of the team,' he says, digging around in one of the crates until he pulls out one of the comics that has most of them on the front cover and holds it up for Nida.

"What do they do?" Nida asks, very confused. Avengers?

[trustandfireworks]

'Save the world,' he says proudly. 'And sometimes other planets or the galaxy, or just one city. Whoever needs it, really.'

"Sounds cool," Nida grins. Yeah, he's more than into that idea.

'They're so awesome. There's loads of them and most of them are great characters.'

[skyward_eyes]

"Like who?" Nida asks, and yeah, he's getting more excited just listening to Theta's enthusiasm.

'Well there's Iron Man who's a genius and has the awesome suit of armor that can fly and do all sorts of stuff. There's Black Widow who's an ex assassin, the Hulk who turns really big, green and strong when he's angry. Ant Man and Wasp who cna shrink down really tiny, but are still strong, and Wasp can fly. There's loads of them!'

"Sounds really cool," Nida allows. Oh man, he'd like to read that. Too bad.

'Yeah, it is. Do... Would you like to borrow some?'

[skyward_eyes]

Oh dear...

Nida nods his head vigorously. "Haven't read a comic book since before things got difficult back home. Which would you suggest? Theta, you are the best!"

Theta bounces, beaming. 'Okay! Well, do you want short stories or longer ones? If you want long stories, read the Phoenix and Dark Phoenix saga. It's the X-Men who are another superhero group and it's so good. If you want shorter stories, then like... any of them.'

"Either works. Where do you suggest I start?" Nida grins. "I miss comics so much, so I can do either really."

'Maybe some shorter comics to get used to the characters?' he suggests. 'And then longer ones?'

[skyward_eyes]

"And used to comics here," Nida points out. "Could be my world makes them a bit differently."

[trustandfireworks]

'Yeah, good point. If they're different, will you tell me how?'

[skyward_eyes]

"I promise," Nida grins. "Thank you. I've missed this sort of stuff so much. Comics and card games. So long since I've been around either."

'Sigma can teach you card games, he's really good,' he says. 'But I'm the comic one in the family. Omega likes them too though.'

[skyward_eyes]

"Does Sigma play trading card games?" Nida asks, interested.

[trustandfireworks]

'Like Pokemon? I think so, I'll need to double check though.'

[skyward_eyes]

"I don't know what pokemon is," Nida shrugs.

[trustandfireworks]

'It's a card trading game,' he says. 'Or at least one bit of it is. You collect creatures called Pokemons and they have different abilities and then you fight them with other players. And you can make basic Pokemon evolve so they get stronger and better abilities.'

[skyward_eyes]

"Sounds great," Nida grins. "Sorry, I loved cards when I was growing up."

[trustandfireworks]

'Why say sorry?' he asks. 'It's really cool!'

[skyward_eyes]

"You might not enjoy cardgames," Nida shrugs.
