Nida, invited over and with express orders to see that Theta behaves and starts his packing for the family's move, waits at the door after he's rung the bell. In his hands rests a box of assorted cookies from the store bakery, in his backpack some games in case the littlest ones he's heard about need distracted, and on his lips a small smile. Finally he can check in on the little guy for real.

Theta's up in his room, surrounded by empty boxes and open draws when the doorbell goes. Instantly, he's up on his feet and rushing out of his room, almost tripping over a box in his haste to navigate the cardboard maze.

'I got it!' he calls as he races downstairs and through the hall to the door where he presses the button to let the airlock open and then bounces on the balls of his feet as he waits for it to cycle and let Nida into the house.

Of anyone Nida expected at the door, he can honestly say that Theta wasn't it. But he's happy for the familiar little guy anyway. With a smile he takes his helmet off, one-handed, and nods at him.

"Hey T-man."

A nod? Nope, Nida's getting a hug and a big one at that, though Theta's mindful of the tin of what he assumes are the promised cookies. Wouldn't want those to go all over the floor.

'Hi, Nida!'

"I know I told you to go for the legs, kid, but that's a bit much," Nida laughs, shaking his head.

'I'm not that short!' he complains, pouting up at him. 'And if I was going for the legs, I'd hold them further down and push so you fell backwards.'

"Good," Nida smiles. "You remember. That's important. Now, where do I put my helmet and do you want a cookie?"

'Helmets go in the cubby over there,' he says, pointing. 'There's room for extra in case people come over, and not everyone's here at the moment anyway. Yes please!'

Nida shoves the helmet into a cubby to charge. That done he smiles and moves to lower his tin onto Theta's head.

"Look at you, cookie head."

Theta giggles and keeps still, peering out from under the tin at Nida.

'New helmet. Feeds the bad guys so they don't wanna attack me.'

"Might even work," Nida chuckles, keeping his hands carefully alongside the tin. There. All good.

"Shall we get some drinks and head upstairs?"

'Yeah. We've got mugs and juice in the kitchen. If you're leaving the tin here, it's gotta be somewhere the twins can'tget it.' Packing is going to be so much better with Nida.

[skyward_eyes]

"So high up?" Delta suggests. "Does that make sense?"

He thinks high up is the answer. But it can be hard to tell sometimes. Kids are smart, maybe too smart.

'High up's good. Or in the No Kids cupboard, but I'm not sure if the tray will fit in there. And... I can't get in there so you'd have to figure it out.'

[skyward_eyes]

"But this is for everyone," Nida points out. "How about we just take them to your room for now," he suggests.

[trustandfireworks]

'That would work. I promise not to eat all of them.' Just a few of them. 'Want to take your shoes off?'

[skyward_eyes]

"Am I supposed to?" Nida asks, concerned. Some people think that's pretty important.

'You don't have to unless they're dirty,' he sasy. 'But we usually do.'

[skyward_eyes]

Usual makes sense. So Nida toes his shoes off, takes the tin, and smiles. "Show me where your room is?"

'Sure. It's upstairs.' He leads the way once Nida's taken his shoes off.

Nida smiles and follows Theta. "So,you still studying while you're out of school?"

[trustandfireworks]

'Yeah, D and Meg make sure I don't just read comics or skateboard all the time,' he says. 'I think they're looking for a new school once we've moved.'

[skyward_eyes]

"Are you learning more?" Nida asks, concerned. This long without structured classes is a problem. He supposes he gets it anyway.

"Wish I could help."

[trustandfireworks]

'Yeah. Maybe not as much as in school, but everyone's really busy, they haven't got time.'

Reaching his room, he pushes the door open. 'You do help. I've been reading the weatcher book you gave me.'

[skyward_eyes]

They don't have time for Theta? That almost pisses Nida off, but he can't do much about that.

"I'm really sorry about that, Theta."

And the room has a very distinct amount of purple.

'It's not your fault,' he says. 'It's not theirs either. They've all got work or school or college or whatever.'

He sits down his bed. Normally he'd jump onto it, but there's a lot of stuff on it at the moment. 'Welcome to Team Purple's room.'
