LOG: What You Get Folks

Who: Delta Ai (Native), Maine (Native), Omega Ai (Native)
What: Family bonding... with a middle man.
Where: Movie Theater at the Gulch Mall.

Warnings: Delta and Omega don't get along.

It is easier, of course, to do this apart. But the problem is that things aren't that easy anymore. They are having a problem with a lot of this. Having problems with a lot of things lately. But Maine was helping, and Delta is furious that Omega even brought the man into it. This was his boyfriend, and Omega's friend. They didn't need him in the middle of their squabble. And Delta definitely didn't need him to be here. But here, in the end, is where they are.

Delta waits outside of the theater, trying to ignore how uncomfortable he is in the open, waiting. Waiting for Omega. Waiting for his meddling boyfriend. Waiting for... well, something. Anything that proves he's getting better. That it's getting better. That he's not completely ruined.

"D, number three, grumpy bear," Omega says into his palm. "It's a potato. That' sliced longways. Like a pickle spear. I have personally witnessed you with a pickle. You know what I'm talking about."

He really hopes he's right.

[maine_makes_growly_noises]

Maine nods. That's a good description. And if it's insufficient, well, they aren't too far from the restaurant.

[protective_logic]

"I get that, but why are they such a big deal," Delta asks, frowning. "Maine seems to think they're more important than the burgers. And fries are good, but still..."

[baruthumos]

Omega shrugs. "Comrade, why are they so great?"

Also why isn't Delta up front with Maine?

[maine_makes_growly_noises]

"Have substance," he says. "And taste good."

Besides, this place offers unlimited fries. How can someone his size say no to that?

[protective_logic]

Delta rolls his eyes. "Of course."

Because those two are so making the point so clear.

[baruthumos]

"You'll see," Omega promises. "Don't you trust Maine?"

Why couldn't Maine be Alpha. Or Church be more like Maine.

[maine_makes_growly_noises]

"All you can eat, too," he points out. "And good burgers."

What's to complain about?

[protective_logic]

It's not a complaint. Delta sighs and shakes his head. "Fine. Show me this wonderful thing called steak fries."

[baruthumos]

"Ohhh," Omega says. "You didn't say it was all you can eat. Now I understand."

Unlimited refills are one of the greatest things in a restaraunt, up there with not cleaning, not cooking, and not having to find something everyone likes.

[maine_makes_growly_noises]

Maine will be happy to show him. A few minutes later, they pull up at the restaurant. Yes, fries definitely sound delicious, and an all-meat burger just as good.

Delta leads the way inside, quietly asking for a table when prompted rather than a booth. At a table he doesn't necessarily have to sit next to Maine. See, not a date.

"So, what's good?" he asks Maine as he settles down in his chair.

[baruthumos]

Omega makes sure when he sits down to leave space for Maine to sit by Delta. "What's their best burger?"

[maine_makes_growly_noises]

He sits down with Delta on his right and looks at the menu. "Like the bleu cheese burger," he says. "Or the Western. Onion rings, bacon, cheese. Louisiana likes the Hawaiian."

[protective_logic]

Delta shudders as he looks at all those options, and he ultimately sets his menu aside. "I believe I'll stick to a regular cheeseburger myself."

[baruthumos]

"Bacon and onions for me," Omega says. "And mythical steak fries."

[maine_makes_growly_noises]

That's easy enough. Maine decides to try the peppercorn burger, complete with bacon and onion straws. He orders a lemonade with it, something to cut the kick from the spices better than plain water would.

[protective_logic]

"Can I have a milkshake?" Delta asks of the table.

[baruthumos]

"Of course," Omega says. "You can get whatever you want."

Why is he asking instead of just ordering it?

[maine_makes_growly_noises]

"Yes," Maine says definitively. Actually, a vanilla milkshake does sound good... No, lemonade will be fine.

[protective_logic]

"Thank you," Delta smiles. "Banana please."

[baruthumos]

That sounds gross, but Omega's not going to be the one sucking on a banana. He'll stick with diet coke.

[maine_makes_growly_noises]

Their server takes their orders back to the kitchen and returns with a basket of steak fries. As promised, the wedges of spiced potato have been fried until crispy. The server also leaves three little bowls of condiments: ketchup, a barbecue dipping sauce, and something called "fry sauce" that Maine has tried but doesn't care for. He eats his fries plain.

Delta frowns and dips one of the wedges into the 'fry sauce' and after a bite he grins. "These are amazing!"

[baruthumos]

Omega hoards the barbeque sauce. "Certainly lived up to the hype," he agrees, munching on one of his own. "And free refills?"
