LOG: What You Get Folks

Who: Delta Ai (Native), Maine (Native), Omega Ai (Native)
What: Family bonding... with a middle man.
Where: Movie Theater at the Gulch Mall.

Warnings: Delta and Omega don't get along.

It is easier, of course, to do this apart. But the problem is that things aren't that easy anymore. They are having a problem with a lot of this. Having problems with a lot of things lately. But Maine was helping, and Delta is furious that Omega even brought the man into it. This was his boyfriend, and Omega's friend. They didn't need him in the middle of their squabble. And Delta definitely didn't need him to be here. But here, in the end, is where they are.

Delta waits outside of the theater, trying to ignore how uncomfortable he is in the open, waiting. Waiting for Omega. Waiting for his meddling boyfriend. Waiting for... well, something. Anything that proves he's getting better. That it's getting better. That he's not completely ruined.

"Really?" Delta looks at his older brother in awe. "There might be foods I don't know I could like yet?"

He squeezes Maine's hand. "So, are steak fries good?"

[baruthumos]

"People get older, what they like changes," Omega says. "We'll have to try fish someday."

How does his brother not know what steak fries are? Delta knows everything.

[maine_makes_growly_noises]

Maine leans in close enough that their upper arms touch. "Very," he says.

[protective_logic]

"You do," Delta smiles at Omega. "Have Maine cook it for you. He's good at it. You'll do that, right Maine?"

[baruthumos]

Omega looks at Maine. For help, before he says something stupid like "does it really taste like cake?"

[maine_makes_growly_noises]

"Of course," he says. "For everyone. Name the night." He would love a chance to cook dinner for the family.

[protective_logic]

"It doesn't taste like cake," Delta protests.

[baruthumos]

"Grouper might," Omega says. "Wouldn't be the strangest thing I've ever seen you eat."

[maine_makes_growly_noises]

"Haven't cooked grouper," he admits. "Prefer salmon."

[protective_logic]

"Grouper tastes like cake?" Delta is so fucking confused.

[baruthumos]

"I only know what I have been told," Omega says. "I don't get it either. Does tuna really taste like chicken?"

[maine_makes_growly_noises]

"No." Maine can answer that one. "Stronger, more distinct taste."

[protective_logic]

"Fishy," Delta supplies. He's had canned tuna for lunch.

[baruthumos]

"So it's better, then."

Omega is not a great fan of chicken.

[maine_makes_growly_noises]

"Much," he says. "Can make that too another time."

[protective_logic]

"What do you even do with canned tuna beyond salad?" he asks.

[baruthumos]

Omega shrugs, he wouldn't know what to do with a tuna if his life depended on it. Unless he looked it up first.

[maine_makes_growly_noises]

"Not just canned," Maine says. "Bake the meat. Like steak or salmon."

[protective_logic]

"There's non-canned tuna?" Delta asks, mystified. And then he remembers what they're after. "Oh, food. We should get going."

[baruthumos]

Omega nods and climbs into the backseat of Maine's jeep. "Burgers and steak fries," he reminds them.

[maine_makes_growly_noises]

Yes, food.

"Fish for another time," he says. Burgers for now. He's excited.

[protective_logic]

"Still trying to understand these steak fry things," Delta admits. And, as he looks at Omega, why his older brother was taking the back seat. Okay, well... He climbs into the back too. He's supposed to be bonding with his brother, right?

[baruthumos]

"D, number three, grumpy bear," Omega says into his palm. "It's a potato. That' sliced longways. Like a pickle spear. I have personally witnessed you with a pickle. You know what I'm talking about."

He really hopes he's right.

[maine_makes_growly_noises]

Maine nods. That's a good description. And if it's insufficient, well, they aren't too far from the restaurant.

[protective_logic]

"I get that, but why are they such a big deal," Delta asks, frowning. "Maine seems to think they're more important than the burgers. And fries are good, but still..."
