Log: Mind the waves

Louisiana rubs the back of her neck, glancing over the newest report scrolling across her holopad. Something was brewing out in the city. All non-essential personnel were being recalled back to Armonia and now she had to oversee a team. She didn't mind low levels as long as they listened. At least Anders was to be her second in command over them.

She locks the pad after encrypting the information. All of that chatter flickering in the back of her mind. It could be ignored for now. Her holopad being shoved into her bag. Louisiana just needed to focus on getting through this lesson.

Sigma was easy. York...not so much. Not after what her partner had done. What her latest set of jobs as the Wraith entailed. It'll be easier once they arrive and she can stop fumbling with these thoughts.

Flopping into a lounge chair, Louisiana watched the water. Her head leaning back. One thing was for certain. Waiting still sucked.

"You'll get there. It could be far worse. Swimming is better than running," she points outs. That latter didn't involve water that kept you cool. Plus it was boring. Her voice dips into sarcasm. "Aren't you two adorable."

'What's wrong with running? I like running.' The ground against your feet, the wind in your hair and rushing over your skin. York was a good runner. 'You'd better believe we're adorable. Especially this one here.' He grins at Sigma, turning his leg to return the lock.

"I think I'm with Louisiana on this one," he admits. "The water is a lot more forgiving than I thought it would be."

She wasn't supposed to notice. He blushes a little bit can't help smiling.

It wasn't hard to notice. Especially since the water was clear as much as their body language was. Louisiana shakes her head. At least this was calmer than last time she hit the pool.

"Ha two against one. Swimming wins," she laughs.

York sticks his tongue out at both of them. 'Pretty sure most of the others would agree with me if they were here,' he tries.

Sigma's gone that lovely shade of red again.

"But they aren't, so you lose," Sigma says. "What's his punishment, Louisiana?"

"Let me think for a second, Sigma. It's got to be something good. Any suggestions," she asks.

York's scowl is mostly playful. 'Wow, really? Screw you guys.'

"Not now, York. We're swimming," Sigma teases. "I vote you have to use the floaties for a lap. Or something."

"Please no. But I agree. Floaties for Nemo it is," Louisiana laughs, grinning. "It'll work."

'What? No, fuck that!' He unhooks his ankle from Sigma's and moves away from them both.

[oquirrh_at_the_wheel]

Jersey is at physical therapy for the next hour, so rather than listen to him whine, Oquirrh decided to visit Louisiana. It's been awhile since they swam together, after all, so she comes to the Cytherean in hopes of finding her.

Sure enough, Louisiana is already in the pool, chatting with a pair of guys. Smiling, Oquirrh begins to shed the outerwear she donned over her swimming suit. It's time to join her friend in the pool.

"I'll go get it," Sigma offers, grinning. He climbs out of the pool to retrieve the floatie. There's another person in the area now, a young woman who strips out of motorcycle leathers to reveal a tasteful black swimsuit. She's pretty, and if not for York, Sigma might be tempted. Instead, he looks away and heads for Louisiana's table.

"Make sure to grab the arm ones too. Get back here, Nemo!" Louisiana slips off the wall and starts to wade after York. Those bright obnoxious orange floats we're going on him whether he liked it or not.

York finds his feet and pushes through the water towards the shallow end. 'Never!' he yells. 'What happened to being on the same team next time?'

So Louisiana isn't just chatting these guys up after all. They yelling seems friendly enough. Oquirrh decides to make the first move and approaches the guy at the table.

"So are you two friends of Louisiana's?" she asks.

"Huh?" She's talking to him. He looks up with his arms full of floaties. "Yeah, are you? I'm Sigma and that's my boyfriend, York. How do you know her?"

"This isn't next time," Louisiana counters, smirking. She was taking her time going after him. If he got too close to the steps, she could still book it and grab him. "Don't you get out!"

[depthlesslock]

'Hi!' York calls, waving in the vague direction of Sigma and the newcomer, but he's more focused on Louisiana. 'You can't stop me!' He's aiming for the steps, but keeping close enough to the wall that he should be able to haul himself out if she gets too close.

[oquirrh_at_the_wheel]

She waves back shyly. "Wait, York? Agent York?" She stops and tries again. "I'm Oquirrh. I'm dating his friend, Washington."

If York is going to end up in floaties, she had better start taking pictures.

No way. This girl is dating Wash? "Do we know the same guy?" he asks. "How'd he end up with a girl like you? And how do you feel about taking pictures?"

Louisiana huffs before finally putting effort into swimming after him. "Oh yes I can," she retorts sharply. The distance between her and him closing quickly.

Oh shit, she's closing in fast! With a yelp, York abandons his plan for the stairs and instead grabs the side of the pool and pulling self out onto the side, rolling until he's hopefully out of her reach.

"You go get your boyfriend," she says. "I'll take care of pictures."

She has the boyfriend's permission. That totally makes this okay.

"Deal," Sigma says. He sprints over to catch York at the side of the pool.

"C'mon, York. It's just a lap. I already did eight of them," he teases.
