LOG: What You Get Folks

[protective_logic]

Who: Delta Ai (Native), Maine (Native), Omega Ai (Native)
What: Family bonding... with a middle man.
Where: Movie Theater at the Gulch Mall.
When: Saturday 8/23, Noon
Warnings: Delta and Omega don't get along.

It is easier, of course, to do this apart. But the problem is that things aren't that easy anymore. They are having a problem with a lot of this. Having problems with a lot of things lately. But Maine was helping, and Delta is furious that Omega even brought the man into it. This was his boyfriend, and Omega's friend. They didn't need him in the middle of their squabble. And Delta definitely didn't need him to be here. But here, in the end, is where they are.

Delta waits outside of the theater, trying to ignore how uncomfortable he is in the open, waiting. Waiting for Omega. Waiting for his meddling boyfriend. Waiting for... well, something. Anything that proves he's getting better. That it's getting better. That he's not completely ruined.

[maine_makes_growly_noises]

"Do you learn what she does?" Maine asks. Sometimes those side-stories are important to the overall plot, after all.

[protective_logic]

"There's talk that the writer is going to do a less common series of books just about Dani," Delta smiles.

But he's suddenly got the same idea as Omega and that... makes him uncomfortable.

[baruthumos]

"I still think her brother is really her nephew," Omega says quickly. "It just fits the timeline better. Plus there's the DNA lock."

Delta stopped smiling. That's not good.

[maine_makes_growly_noises]

"Her nephew?" Maine asks. That doesn't make sense. (Quick, keep the conversation moving.)

[protective_logic]

"Dani tends to be seen with a younger brother, but there is debate among fans about that point. Omega is on the side of nephew, I'm on the side of believing what Dani says," Delta smiles. "We've been debating it for years. It's fun."

[baruthumos]

"He is Kade's kid, I swear," Omega argues. "Why doesn't that family ever talk about their mother? Because she died before he was born!"

"And when you read the books, Frankie has no mother. She's a clone of her father. Don't let Delta tell you any different. No parent would leave their child with Doc Greene, King of the Airheads."

[maine_makes_growly_noises]

Maine shakes his head. He has even less of an idea what they're talking about.

"Don't tell me," he says instead. "Want to form my own opinion."

And stave off a possible argument.

[protective_logic]

"Don't you try and sway him to your completely un-supported by canon opinions!" Delta protests. "Next thing I know, you're going to try and convert him to the cult of Zutara and completely ignore what she had with Aang!"

Delta is not a convert.

[baruthumos]

"There is no converting to the cult," Omega says. "There is simply the truth. Zuko is the father of Katara's children. It's as irrefutable as Asami and Korra's wedding."

Omega has strong opinions on children's television. He's seen too much not to.

[maine_makes_growly_noises]

"This is the same series?" Maine asks.

[protective_logic]

"No," Delta tells his boyfriend, clipped, because he has a hill to die on here. "I give you the Korrasami wedding, but you take back that blasphemy about Katara's fidelity!"

[baruthumos]

"Aang was a terrible father and a worse husband," Omega argues. "And Katara owes him nothing. For all we know, exclusivity was not part of her marriage vows. Aang clearly left some things out of his own."

Tenzin probably is Aang's son. Maybe.

[maine_makes_growly_noises]

Wow, they changed topics quickly. So much for avoiding any debates.

[protective_logic]

"Oh come on!" Delta protests, and clearly there is no true anger there, just a debate they have clearly had time and time again.

"Katara was clearly devoted to Aang, and Aang to her."

[baruthumos]

"Aang had no time for any of his children but Tenzin, and that only because Tenzin was also an airbender!" Omega insists. "I'm not going to argue with you. Next time the littles get around to season two of Korra, we'll show you!"

[maine_makes_growly_noises]

Clearly they're discussing another fictional series. And it involves relationships. This is not the kind of conversation that Maine feels qualified to be having.

[protective_logic]

"You haven't convinced me yet, and you won't next time," Delta chuckles, shaking his head and twisting back to lean against Maine. "Anyway, we own the books for this movie series if you want to try them."

[baruthumos]

"Did you finish the new one?" Omega asks. "I haven't read it yet." Now that he has the time and isn't taking painkillers. He wants to finish it before the EMT class gets going.

[maine_makes_growly_noises]

"Would like that," he says. "Sounds like good discussion material." He leans back just enough to acknowledge Delta's proximity.

[protective_logic]

"I finished the new one more than a month ago," Delta smile at his brother. "I'll pass it over when we get home. And Maine, you can stick around and I'll give you the first one to read."

[baruthumos]

"Sounds like a plan," Omega says, smiling back. This was a good idea. Maine has good ideas. Maine makes everything better. Why couldn't he be Alpha?

[maine_makes_growly_noises]

"Thanks. Will plan on it."

"What now?" Maine asks. "Dinner? Ice cream? Home?"

He doesn't want to rush them when they're doing so well, but Delta may not be up for dinner.

[protective_logic]

"I'll skip ice cream," Delta blushes, looking to his feet. "Uh... is dinner something we could do?"

[baruthumos]

"Yes, dinner," Omega says. "Food. I am always up for food." He'll take the maybe of pissing Delta off later over disagreeing with him now.

[maine_makes_growly_noises]

"Dinner. Burgers, pizza, something nicer?"

This is a good sign. They aren't afraid to spend more time together. This is a really good sign.
