Log: Tending the Twins

Who: Sigma Ai, Agent York (Native), any Ai siblings who are at home
What: Babysitting the little siblings during Delta's appointment

Before he picks up the twins from school, Sigma finds everything he should need. Paper, pencils, crayons, and even a few stickers, so they can decorate the room with "Get Well Delta" cards. Dishes, cups, and favorite juices. A rogue ball of string in case York wants to help the twins play the "secret agent" game that he proposed on their second date.

It's a lot for one morning of babysitting, but Sigma really wants this to go well. Delta needs it, and more importantly, he hasn't seen York since before finals. It's time to sit back, have fun, and pretend that nothing is wrong.

Thankfully, the twins are pretty docile by the time they get home. Both of them have been cranky in Delta's absence. Now, they just seem resigned. Sigma hopes York will help him cheer them up.

"Oh really?" Time for a strike of his own. He's close enough now to reach over and start tickling York's side right below his ribs.

The twins have started moving to join the fight, still ducking the threads but leaving the crayons forgotten.

York yelps and tries to squirm away from Sigma's fingers. Dammit, he hadn't expected that. Should've done though, Sigma doesn't take defeat lying down.

Encouraged, Sigma presses the attack. He doesn't notice that the twins have reached the coffee table.

York doesn't see either. Turned to Sigma and half doubled with laughter, his blind side faces the twins, and in any case, he trying to out-tickle his boyfriend.

Eta and Iota jump on them, laughing. She lands behind Sigma and grabs him in a hug. Iota climbs into their lap so he can tickle Sigma's feet, though York's side is also within reach.

York laughs harder with the sudden attack and tries to grab the little miscreants off while seeing if they're ticklish themselves.

Sigma's ribs aren't ticklish, but he can't reach Eta, either. Luckily she doesn't remember that his neck is ticklish. York is fending off Iota, so he pulls his feet to safety and play-roars, trying to reach his little sister's sensitive sides.

Iota is already giggling as he tries to tickle York, but York manages to get his hands past the five year old's excited wriggling and soon has him collpased with laughter as he tickles him.

Ha, he has her now. Eta shrieks and tries to escape, but the hand that isn't tickling her side keeps her stuck on the couch so she doesn't fall and hit her head. Leaning back, Sigma traps her on the couch.

"Ha, got you!"

Iota is a writhing worm of giggles that York has finally managed to subdue, even though he's laughing himself.

'Victory!' he crows.

Eta responds by throwing her arms around him. Not for tickles, for a hug. "I don't know," he says. "I bet they could've beaten us if they weren't so sleepy. Should we go find Ryan and Samson?"

"Yeah," she whispers, and Sigma sees her twin nod.

York stops tickling Iota and the kid soon quietens, occasionally giggling as he curls up against York's chest.

'Probably could have,' York agrees, wrapping his arms loosely around Iota, only for him to squirm out so he and Eta can go look for... toys? He assumes that's what Ryan and Samson are.

"My scary little super-spies," Sigma says. "C'mon. Upstairs we go." Lifting Eta onto his hip, he starts upstairs.

Iota stretches out his arms to York expectantly. Grinning, York picks him up - jeez, he's light - and follows Sigma upstairs.

It's a bit embarrassing, showing York their rooms and how little space they have. Still, he was bound to find out eventually. He opens the door and heads inside. Eta squirms in his arms, eager to get at her much-loved stuffed bear.

York doesn't really care about the size, though it does seem a little squished. Iota wriggles to be let down so he sets the twin on the floor and watches him run to one of the beds.

He's grateful that they went from giggling to exhausted with minimal drama. Usually there's crying by this point. He sits Eta on her bed, smooths her hair, and helps her get under the covers with her bear.

"Have a good nap, princess," he says before going to tuck in their brother.

Iota fishes a well-loved toy lion from under the covers and snuggles down with the thing clutched against his chest. York smiles and, unable to help himself, tucks the boy and his lion into bed.

Smiling, Sigma turns the lights off. "Have a good nap," he whispers before turning off the light.

York leaves the room, smiling softly. The really are adorable.

"That buys us a little quiet time," Sigma says.

York's smile morphs into a grin. 'That sounds good.'

"My brothers might want us to clean up the front room. Start there?" He asks, grinning.

'Sounds like a plan to me,' he agrees, taking Sigma's hand.

Sigma squeezes his hand and starts downstairs. They should probably clean up as much string as possible before they get distracted. His brothers will at least want to be able to walk through the door.
